  • Easy to use, quick delivery.

Used it to build deck.

  • Very sturdy fastener
Style: Marksman Tool
This really makes the deck look good! I used it to install cedar 2x4 on the deck and it worked very well. I didn't need to pre-drill the boards and it did a decent job of pulling down slightly warped boards (I discarded boards with big wow's). It's very sturdy and I was able to use it to position most boards all by itself, while using a couple of flat bars for fine-tuning spaces (3/16") or holding down boards until the screws were installed. One note to include, it takes a lot longer to use this than just putting screws down through the top of the boards, but the clean look, without splinters or tops of screws showing is definitely worth it. I can't emphasize how sturdy it is - I installed 1,400sf of decking, including steps and a rim board - and it still looks almost brand new. Plus, while I purchased the bulk screws with the fastener, when I needed a few extras I just went to Home Depot and got a small box (they cost a little more than online, but no waiting for postage). ... show more

  • A MUST have for hidden-fastener installation for hardwood decks!!
Style: Marksman Tool
If you want to install exterior decking WITHOUT running fasteners through the face where they'll collect water, splinter and make it look unprofessional, then this is a MUST HAVE tool!! Don't forget to buy the special drill bits needed when installing Ipe, Mahogany, Meranti, (any) Hardwood decking. You'll thank me later!! With this tool, you can also install typical pressure treated decking, composite decking, etc, though pre-drilling is not really necessary since these materials have a softer composition. You'll also need to buy the specific Camo screws to use this tool, but the results are FANTASTIC!! I've never had a dissatisfied client!!! ... show more

  • Great tool, but get the right size.
Style: Marksman Tool
I saw this deck fastening system while watching a video online. I decided to try the system because there are no surface blemishes when the deck is completed. This tool did everything it advertised and I was very happy with it. My only complaint was that a different tool was needed for 2x4's and 2x6's. If you are using both dimensions of lumber on the deck surface, you'll need two different tools. It does take a lot longer to install the deck surface, but the finished product looks great. It will be interesting to see if fasteners stand the test of time. ... show more

  • Worked as advertised
Style: Marksman Tool
Tool is built well. Hides screws very well while the holding power is excellent. I used the tool with IPE and would suggest pre-drilling holes as suggested for such a hard a dense wood to prevent the wood from cracking and pulling apart at screw head. This is no fault of tool just the characteristics of the wood itself. Any other wood and the screws go in with no pre-drilling and leave a perfect finish. ... show more

  • Works well but if you do not have the edging or corners, you don’t need it.
Style: Marksman Tool
If you are replacing the decking with out removing the railing (some styles) you will not be able to use this unless it is in the open Wilton no obstacles around it.

  • Great tool watch the size of your boards
Style: Marksman Tool
My fault this doesn’t get a highest rating. I was psyched about this tool when I saw it on a deck building YouTube video. I still am but what I did not understand was that there were different size tools for different width deck boards. If I hadn’t been under a tight deadline I would have exchanged it for the larger size that fit my deck boards to finish the project. I still think it’s a great tool. ... show more
