For years I wore a size 10 in all types of footwear, but in recent years I have occasionally had to get footwear in 10.5 or even 11 probably because overseas manufacturers can’t keep sizes consistent. In the past I had found another brand of hiking sandal on Amazon that I liked. I had gone through many pairs of the same one. The style I liked had been discontinued and I decided to try these in the Black and Gray color. When they arrived I noticed the insole was much softer than the previeous ones I had been ordering. There are more comfortable than any other sandal I have had. We just got back from the big Airshow in Oshkosh, WI (Airventure) where we were on our feet all day for the whole week. We were walking about 20,000 steps a day. These sandals were great. In years past my feet hurt and legs were tired by Wednesday. I was actually shopping for a competing product which would have been considerably more expensive, but could not find the model I wanted. These were second choice, and I didn't expect much. Surprise !! They fit great, and don't have that sometimes irritating heavy stitching inside the backstrap. Quite comfortable. I didn't care much for the little plastic string adjuster, as it would flop down under the tongue when I was putting them on. I have a pair of Keen sandals with closed toe. I've never liked them because they are very wide. I have concluded that most shoe makers have decided that instead of making shoes that fit, in various widths like they used to do, they have decided to just make shoes for fat feet, because those of us with normal feet will still be able to get them on. So, these Camel Crowns are narrower than the wide-load Keens, and fit me better. The only problem I can foresee is that the soles are thinner than Keen, so I feel rocks on the trail. Liked the look of a pair of KEEN hiking sandals in REI. Jaw dropped at the $140 price tag. Found these on Amazon later, and I'm super happy with them. They don't feel quite as premium, but they still look and feel good. I was dubious when I received these from Amazon, obviously ordered sight unseen. Once I figured out the adjustment strap, my fault, I was surprised at how well the sandals conform to and support the foot. I've used them extensively hiking over hot, hard rocky surfaces with no problems. The sealed toe is a real benefit for many uses. ... show more
