Great for the OR/Long Clinic Days
Size: 8.5-9.5 Women/6.5-7.5 Men Color: Maroon
I effin love these shoes. I'm a medical student in a busy hospital, on my feet from ~6am - 6pm, and these are the only things that prevent my legs from giving out in the middle of it all. On my first surgical rotation, I spent about a week in sneakers before I made the switch, and the difference was night and day. Not only am I actually able to stand for the duration of clinic/the operative procedures, but I also don't have to worry about getting blood/bodily fluids on these cause I can just wipe them off with a Cavi wipe. I'd say about 60% of the residents on my current service also wear this brand of OR shoe too. I wear a 9 shoe (8.5 in heels, sometimes up to a 9.5) and I got the 38/39. I actually find it to be a little bit big: a true 38 would probably fit a bit better. I prefer to wear inserts, since I find that the nubbed bottom creates too much friction through my socks. NOTA BENE: the insert that comes with the shoes is NOT supposed to last! It is a TEMPORARY insert so that you can feel what the shoe is like with and without it, so that you don't waste $10 on the inserts that you might not end up liking anyway. And though these look narrow, they are actually decently roomy in the toe box (my friend with "wide" feet tried them on and said this.) Haven't tried the style without ventilation holes so I can't say how the ventilation compares, but my feet (in combo with compression socks and inserts) don't get overly hot in these. Having had blood fall on my feet today, I can also say that the ventilation holes haven't been a problem so far - I think their small enough that capillary action prevents transmission of fluids (of a reasonable amount) through to socks underneath. ... show more

Worth Every Penny for Comfort and Durability

I’m really impressed with my CALZURO shoes! The high-quality Italian design is evident from the durable rubber material that feels built to last. These shoes are incredibly comfortable, especially for standing long hours—I can wear them all day without any discomfort. Cleaning them is a breeze, whether you wash or just wipe them down. While the price is a bit on the higher side, the quality justifies it. You get what you pay for, and these are definitely not cheap in construction. I also love the rubber grip on the sole that keeps them from slipping off. Overall, they’re a great investment! Great for the operating room ✅ Easy cleanup ✅ Durable material ✅ ... show more

They are extremely comfortable. Very great arch supports that mold to your foot. So worth the cost for their value and comfort

Not a good fit for all!

Beware, buying on Amazon does not guarantee a refund if there are any issues! I bought these shoes after hearing a bunch of people talk about how comfortable they were and light. I have had the same pair of Danskos for over 10 years and wanted to try something different since sneakers were not lasting. I work 10 hour shifts in the hospital so I need comfortable shoes. I bought a pair and tried them one and my feet hurt so bad! I’m not sure if it’s the arch or the grooves in the sole but I couldn’t tolerate it. I tried to return them within 3-5 days of receiving and I was charged a 50% restocking fee. Ultimately they settled on sending the uncomfortable shoes back after I contacted them and said if I knew I would only receive $65 from a $130 purchase I would have resold or gifted them. There was no offer to help remedy the problem, at all. I wouldn’t recommend buying from this company especially based on their customer service and especially based on how my feet felt. ... show more

I am an anesthesiologist who has been in practice for over 20 years. Probably this is my 8th or 9th pair of Calzuros. I first purchased these during my residency in the early 1990s and have been hooked ever since. They are extremely comfortable, keep feet cool, will not slip on wet floors, easy to clean (scrub sink), and continue to look good year after year. These shoes, in my experience, maintain their structural integrity for about 2 to 2.5 years, then develop crack(s) along the toe area. I put up with the crack(s) for another six months to a year or so, until the crack(s) propagate to the point of compromising their good appearance. In my line of work, professional appearance counts, and cracked O.R. shoes require replacement once the cracks are visible 10 or so feet away. The bottoms have never cracked, in my lengthy experience. When I purchase new ones, the old ones become my "new" lawn & garden shoes at home. The price has risen approximately 100% since the early 1990s. Hint: do not use betadine scrub brushes to clean Calzuros, only "white" soap scrub brushes. Betadine will permanently discolor the plastic. The brush package's fingernail cleaning stick is useful for digging out dirt from the grooves in the bottoms of the shoes. I never attempted to autoclave these, for fear that the result will be a blue blob of plastic when the cycle completes. ... show more

Satisfied on all points.
Size: 8-8.5 Women/6-6.5 Men Color: Metallic Blue
Have seen these shoes around the hospital for years but remained loyal to Danskos. Finally gave them a try and very glad I did. As with Dansko my feet are never fatigued - (the biggest reason, I was leary to make the switch. ) I have yet to fall ‘off’ them as I occasionally do with Danskos. The nubs lend a huge plus towards comfort. The fit is right on. No slipping and sliding of my foot within the shoes. These shoes are sturdy. Of importance to me, I appreciate that these shoes can be cleaned very easily...even completely sanitized, if I choose, by autoclave! ... show more
