    • Malfunction within days
Scent: Peppermint-Purple with 2 Refills
I purchased this for my teen in May 2021. After having some anxiety that began recently and after reading about this product, we wanted a safe and natural way to try. It worked for a few days, but began malfunctioning and not working all together in less than a week. I put in new batteries and that did not fix the problem. Unfortunately, we had death in my family in May which triggered higher anxiety, and I had to travel to the west coast and manage things. It was a very stressful time and we found another solution to help that was reliable, but I was very disappointed to have spent over $200 on this product that is still sitting in its box with the extra add-ons that I also purchased with it. My teen was excited to have something with her at all times such as Calmigo, but it is too expensive and once past the return time, the customer is out of luck so to speak. Totally sucks that we did not have a real opportunity for my teen to use the product fully and appreciate the benefits to be able to give a real rating on the product! ... show more

This little apparatus has been a godsend! It has helped take my anxiety level down maybe as much as 75 - 80% and that is an incredible gift to me. I have had severe anxiety for the past two years due to circumstances in my life and have tried everything including meditation, increasing my prescription medicine, CBT, breathing techniques, cds etc and nothing helped. I didn't just have attacks, I had it all day long and sometimes I could barely function. I only saw CalmiGo advertised when I went online looking for more ways to help myself and I read as much about it as possible and it sounded like it might be legitimate and I was desperate so, given the reviews and the refund guarantee, I went ahead and ordered it although I really did not think it would work. Anyway, after a consultation with their representatives, I managed to use it properly and it actually helped me-- it took about three days to kick in and then I noticed my anxiety levels decreasing and I had long periods during the day with no anxiety. I kept using it and have had it now for maybe a month and it has been like a miracle. I did think it was expensive at first and hesitated to order it for this reason but it has turned out to be more than worth it. They have a staff to help you and they get back to you very quickly unlike most companies where all you get is incessant menus and never reach a human being. The product is well made and it is easy to carry and use and is discreet although that hardly matters to me because I don't care what it looks like if it relieves my anxiety. I don't know if it will work for everyone but it is based on sound principles and it has been a miracle for me.     • It's a good product, but experienced some issues along the way

I initially received a faulty device, where the batteries needed to be replaced every week, whether it was used or not. Eventually, I got a replacement device from the company, which I am quite pleased with. It works as well as breathing techniques work. The device is not magic, but I have found it extremely helpful because I find deep breathing difficult when I am anxious, and this device takes the thinking out of the equation. The device with the faulty battery unit was quite frustrating and it took me quite a while to get it replaced. It might not sound like a big deal, but the device needs to be taken apart with a screwdriver in order to replace the batteries, and the issue seemed to be getting worse over time. It's a real pain when you're reaching for the device and the batteries are already going dead, even though you replaced them a few days ago and haven't used it since. I had the malfunctioning device for a total of 3 months. Initially, I received a comment on my review here requesting that I contact them for a replacement, but I reached out to the company twice through their website and never got a response. I only got a response from the company when I went through Amazon's complaint system. The customer service rep that I reached through Amazon's complaints was very helpful and responsive. But I do not think they should have a help form on their website that they do not appear to monitor at all. Apart from all that, I do not find their scented units add much to the device. I have tried all three scents, and they all are very strong at the beginning, but then very quickly the scent becomes muted. The lavender scent mutes to a scent that smells very sickly to me, so I don't even use those. I'd like to experiment with using an essential oil as a cheap way to scent the pads once every week or two, but I won't be buying any more scent pads from the company. Overall, I think it's a good device, but some aspects don't appear to be ready for prime time. I do not know how common the battery issue is, but if you receive a faulty device, I would recommend going through Amazon for a replacement instead of contacting them directly. Edit: I've had this device now for 8 months, and I lowered my review by one star due to the price. I have different devices that are not the same as the calmigo, but that I use far more when I have anxiety and cost me less money. For example, a throat irrigator like MyPurMist or VocalMist, or a Pranamat massage mat. These are NOT the same thing as a Calmigo, but they were all less expensive and things that I find more effective for destressing. $180 is really steep for this device. It's fine, I still use it from time to time, but if you are on a budget and looking for effective ways to destress, this isn't the first product I would recommend. I feel like a major selling point of this small and portable device should be that it is discreet and easy to use in public, but it really looks like you are having an asthma attack while you are using it. Most people will think it's an emergency inhaler because that's exactly what it looks like. So it isn't really that discreet, in my opinion. I wouldn't use it in public, out of fear of a stranger approaching me to try to "help" me. The device itself does calm me down, but sometimes I suspect it's really just making me feel light-headed? I don't know. It's a tough sell for $180. Edit2: So it's a little over a year later, and this device has been unused for quite a while. I now believe that the only way to effectively manage anxiety through breathing, is to train yourself to consistently breathe in and out through the nose, which is incompatible with the Calmigo, which requires you to breath out through your mouth. I'll leave the rest of the review as it is, but I would not recommend this device. To start, I recommend looking into Breath by James Nestor, or looking up Patrick McKeown's work.     • Overpriced but helpful
Scent: Lavender-Purple with 2 Refills
I really like this little gadget! I was looking at it for a while, but the price always prevented me from purchasing it. I would not spend more than $100 on this, but I received a donation to cover the full cost, so that’s why I own one today. Functionally it works perfectly. My only complaint is that the scented piece comes off too easily (and it’s sticky) so every time I need to reattach the piece I need to sanitize my hands. This product helps ground me during a panic attack and helps calm me before a seizure, so it does perform its function well, but I can’t say I’d recommend it simply due to the price point. Hopefully it can be reduced as this seller becomes more successful. ... show more
