🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Bwine F7 GPS Drone receives highly positive reviews overall, with customers noting its impressive flight capabilities, intuitively easy setup, and strong performance even in windy conditions. Customers are generally satisfied with the quality of the photos and videos taken by the drone. However, it isn't without faults, such as a potentially short controller life and underwhelming night vision.

Pros

  • 🚁 Solid build quality and complete package including replacement propellers and protective case.
  • 📱 Easy setup and intuitive accompanying app.
  • 🌬️ Performs well even in windy conditions.
  • 💼 Comes with three batteries, which is deemed a big plus by several reviewers.
  • 📸 Produces quality photos and videos.

Cons

  • 🔋 Several users experienced controller battery draining quicker than expected.
  • 🌒 Night vision capability does not meet some users' expectations.
  • 🔄 Some features such as camera tilt direction and auto-record seemed unintuitive to some users.

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a reliable, durable drone with strong flight capabilities and quality imaging, the Bwine F7 GPS Drone seems like a solid investment. Bearing in mind some potential drawbacks around the controller battery life and night vision, it appears to offer good value for money overall.

  • Easy to Use and FAA Approved
Shipping: - I received the drone the same day as promised by Amazon. - The drone was well packed in multiple levels of boxes Initial Perceptions and Setup - The drone comes in a nice bag that will hold all of the components. - Charged up the batteries. Only down side to the whole package is that a charging block wasn't provided. I had to use charging blocks from my phones and be sure it was the correct amperage (3A). I did receive several USB cables. - Drone appears to be solid and well made. - Received 3 batteries and an extra set of props (and extra screws). - Loading and setting up the Bwine Drone app was simple. First Flight - This was the most pleasing part of the purchase. It is amazingly easy to fly and use. The App takes you through all the steps to help you remember the process to calibrate the drone compass. - I went out on a nice day with a bit of a breeze (noticeable, but not a strong wind). The drone held positions VERY well and the camera worked well. - Live camera view is very good using the App. - Landing is very easy. You can assist, or it will land itself. I did take out a 3'x3' piece of plywood as a launching platform. I did have to move it only about 3' when I used the self landing capability...which considering GPS accuracies is pretty amazing. - Took several pictures. Resolution is good, but not amazing. I am satisfied with the pictures considering the distance and the fact the drone is moving in the breeze. FAA Registration - Was very pleased that the drone was found on the FAA site and it did have Remote ID capability. Was a little worried after some of the early 2023 reviews, but it is US FAA approved. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase especially given the special Black Friday pricing I received. Looking forward to going out again and trying more of the App functions. ... show more

  • You can't get a better drone in this price range, period!
I'm a former fighter pilot and retired airline captain. I began messing with drones when a friend who owns a drone manufacturing business asked me for help with a flight software problem. I agreed to take a look at it, and ended up writing him a complete S&C program. (Stability and Control) I was hooked! I had a new retirement hobby. I began writing flight software and building drones using off-the-shelf components. I got into racing and photography. I quickly felt limited, so I began integrating my other hobby, 3d printing, and soon I was scratch building drones and having a great time. Then my wife and I went on a trip and planned on taking extensive aerial photos of some ocean front properties that we, and three couples we are close with, were planning on buying together. But the airline lost my luggage, including the three drones I had brought. I needed a photography drone that had great photo quality, gps routing, good wind resistance, excellent range and flight time, and that could be delivered overnight. Yikes. My options seemed to be limited to DJI, and to be honest I'm not a big fan. Not that there's anything wrong with DJI, I just personally don't care for their UI. BUT then I saw a weird name Id never heard of. "Bwine". I'm still not certain how it's pronounced and I own 5 of them! "B-wine" or "buh-wine" whatever it is. So anyway, I needed a drone now, this drone with three 25 minute batteries was $270 at the time, some sort of sale I think. It arrived 14 hours after I ordered it, as promised. I opened it up to find a surprisingly nice pleather semi-hard case. It's a very nice case, and has multiple compartments, which provides very good protection for the drone. First thing I pulled out was the controller. It's stout and heavy, has a nice information screen, fold down handles, a phone holder that's better than most but not deep enough for my indestructible phone with the 7 day battery. It really is a good feeling, metal controller. Then the drone itself. It is HEAVY. Surprisingly heavy. It feels military, if you're ex military you'll know what I mean.. it feels like durability came before any other concern. You feel like it can be stuffed in a duffel and humped halfway around the world and it will be just fine. It has two locks, a motor to motor prop lock, and a gimbal lock for the camera. The prop lock is a simple bar that goes over the top, linking one prop to another. The gimbal lock is sort of a semi translucent plastic shell that fits over the bottom half of the camera, with two arms that reach out and snap to the skids, holding the camera stationary during transport. The arms of the drone unfold, the first two conventionally, straight back, noteworthy only because they require significant force to move. The second set of arms is unusual, they pivot under and around so that the motors end up under the first set and upside down. They move very easily. It's a nice design and turns a decent sized drone into a tidy package. Setup is the only negative I have for this drone, and it's not a big deal. It takes about 90 seconds to complete, at a leisurely pace. In a hurry I can do it is about 15 seconds. But you do have to align the gyros each time you turn the drone on and begin to fly it. I'm not bothered by this at all, but some folks seem to be. If you want to pay 4-5 times as much for a drone, you can avoid it. There is a beginner mode, to let you get the hang of the thing or if you're new to drones. It limits the responsiveness, height, and range. Turn beginner mode off, and the F7 flies very nice. It has excellent range, speed, and station keeping is very good, even in wind. The return home function is excellent, ive tested it extensively, and while it claims to be accurate within 98 feet, in dozens of uses I've never had it miss the mark by more than 16 feet, and that was in 25 mph winds. The other flight functions all work perfectly, in fact I've found the GPS routing to be superior to any other off the shelf drone in my experience. One point of interest, recently a friend had a 700g drone of his lose power and self land on a high (4 story) commercial roof with no access. It was an experimental model he had quite a bit of money wrapped up in. He was convinced the drone was lost. The roof was complex, with multiple high pitch roofs and the drone far out of sight in a valley, 4 stories off the ground. I didn't want to risk one of my expensive drones, so I rigged a light cable and hook to my F7 and donned my FPV goggles. I flew up to the area the drone had gone down in and began flying the valleys between peaks it. It was tricky, because the winds were whipping around up there, and unpredictable. I finally located the drone and began dragging the hook. I couldn't see the hook and the drone interact because the camera wouldn't depress far enough, so it was like deploying the hook via educated guess, lol. Finally I snagged it. I had never flown a sling load with the F7 at all, much less such a heavy one in high winds. But somewhat to my surprise, when I lifted, the F7 acted like it was made for it. The gyro compensated perfectly, it lifted easily, and I flew my buddy's drone down to a soft landing. I had already decided that I quite liked the F7, but after this rescue it easily became my favorite off the shelf drone. In my opinion, you simply can't go wrong with the Bwine F7 drone. It's a great setup, and when you figure in the amazing low price, it gets impossible to pass up! ... show more

  • Amazing drone for under 600. Perfect for a first serious drone!
Firstly, let's talk about value. The fact that this drone comes in at under 600 is absolutely jaw dropping, and you will not find these same features anywhere else, for this price. Now, let's dive into the controller. It's sleek, ergonomic, and feels like it belongs in the hands of a professional pilot. The app on the phone is easy to use, offers tracking, records, and all of the smart features you'd expect from flying a drone in the upper price range of 1,000 USD. Speaking of flying, the range and battery life of the Bwine F7 are truly impressive. I've taken this drone on numerous flights, and it never fails to deliver. With an extensive range, and automatic smart RTH. I can explore far and wide without worrying about losing connection. And thanks to the long-lasting batteries, I can enjoy extended flight sessions without constantly swapping them out. But perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Bwine F7 is its feature set. This drone is packed with advanced capabilities that rival those of much pricier options, such as DJI. From intelligent flight modes to low light capabilities, it has everything I need to capture stunning aerial footage with ease. And the best part? It comes at a fraction of the cost of a DJI drone, making it the perfect choice for budget-conscious enthusiasts like myself. In conclusion, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Bwine F7 drone. With its impressive battery life, range, user interface, and feature set, it's truly a game-changer in the world of drones. Whether you're a seasoned pilot or a beginner looking to take to the skies, I highly recommend the Bwine F7. You won't be disappointed! ... show more
