I had bought one of these bookshelves previously, but someone else had put it together on my behalf. I liked its appearance and it was reasonably sturdy for the price. I bought these to match my current shelf and give myself more space for storage, but this time I had to put them together myself. I am no handyman, but it still only took me 1 hour (with interruptions) for the first shelf, but once I knew what I was doing it only took me 20 minutes for the second shelf. They even have markings for where the nails go to attach the back panel. So if you are someone who over-stresses about proper spacing, you need not fear taking too long trying to be perfect because they've made the decision for you. I needed a lego bookcase & researched for weeks to find something deep enough for baseplates & wide enough without being short. This does the job. Pro: Easy to put together; took about 1 hour per bookshelf. Instructions are straightforward (just know that when assembling, have rough edges facing up). Deep, wide, & tall enough. Does the job I needed it for and looks good enough for my lego display. Shelves are twice as wide as the cheap bookcases; I needed something sturdy. Cons: Hairline cracks in one of my bookshelves on the long end and a break in the shelf. No back, just that cardboard piece (which is why bookcase is misleading as it is actually a bookshelf). This is an OK bookshelf. I do not have IKEA nearby, so amazon was the only reasonable option within my price range. I would buy this again if I wanted more shelves. Roughly $400 for a 2 pack. Better than the $40 small bookshelves. Don’t expect perfection & you will not be disappointed. Edit to say: I will be purchasing this 2 pack of bookshelves again. I have more lego than I thought. These are amazing shelves for collectors. Easy to assemble, so pretty easy to disassemble (except for backing with nails; might have to rip it off and have an open back if you want to take these in a move). My Harry Potter Lego takes up 1 shelf alone. Adding a few of these on a wall together will give it the built in look. A day of reflection & I love these shelves! ... show more

I was quite pleased to find that the building instructions were so simple and straight forward. It took me about 50 minutes to build the first one (on my own) and about 35 minutes to build the second (again, without assistance). The quality is good and the units look far better than I expected. If you’re looking for poor quality bookcases that come with plenty of non-removable smudges, scratches and chips…then these are for you. I was shocked at the amount of dust and debris that was on the pieces upon opening the boxes. I’ve owned plenty of Bush products that were top quality…these are pretty disappointing. Pleasantly surprised by how sturdy. They arrived on a pallet. Warning boxes heavy. Easy to put together and are solid. We got the grey to match our furniture. Only frustration was it took several weeks to arrive.
