The kit arrived in two boxes by FedEx. They are heavy, but easily handled by two 75 year olds and a hand cart. All the pieces are clearly marked. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and logical. The tools required are only a couple Phillips screwdrivers. I did substitute wood feet for the plastic ones, primarily for ascetics. I found some on-line that were a perfect match for not much extra. The only complaint I have is that one set of screws were left out, but these were #6-1/2 inch round heads which are easily found at most hardware stores. ... show more

My husband and I share our home office. I knew I wanted L shaped desks that we could put on one wall. (Excuse the mess, we are still unboxing stuff.) These worked perfectly! We bought 2 desks, a lateral file cabinet and a bookshelf. They were fairly easy to assemble with the 2 of us working together. We did it over a couple of days and it was pretty easy. The only negative I have to say is a few pieces had small scratches or knicks in them. I'm sure it was done in the packing process. After assembling the product, here is my review: Overall: I don't believe the website is accurate on this item. I just received it. This is constructed on cheap particle board. Has plastic feet. I can't see this lasting any longer than a year, with consistent use. I would be surprised if this holds up and remains sturdy. This is like the cheap furniture that you can buy from Target or Walmart. For $600 I thought this would be made a little better, but the evidence is in the construction and hardware. I would not buy this product again or recommend it to anyone else. Cons: Cheaply made and scratches easily. Very sharp corners. I already cut my leg on one of the corners. Not very big. Drawers are very cheap. Desk sits very low. I couldn't put the keyboard tray on because the desk comes right to the top of my legs. Hutch is low and not practical for use. I may not be able to use the hutch, because it restricts the use of a monitor at the height that I need the screen. Hutch doesn't provide any utility, in fact it takes away much needed desk space. The desk chips and breaks easily with slight bags. The desk can is rated to hold under 300 lbs. Not much drawers space. Plastic hardware throughout, including the feet. Not very stable, if you need to move it. The desk falls apart easily. I intend to throw this product away when I am done using it. They offered to return the product, but the return was a hassle. I just kept it because I needed something quickly, but I really feel like this product was falsely depicted on the website. It is definitely not work $600.00. Maybe this is worth $250 tops. I wish I would have just ordered a couple folding tables, they would have been much cheaper and better for what I needed. Update: I have had the product for about a week. It functions alright. I didn’t install the keyboard tray because the desk is too low. The finish is very soft and chips easily. I attached a picture showing chips in the finish and wood, from scooting my Mac around while I am working. This product is not worth the money this company charged. Overall Good product and easy to install. Only disappointment was to find out missing right panel (item C per manual) at almost last step of assembly. I have tried requesting just one missing piece but it seems they are going to send whole product and I will have to return the rest. If Amazon picks it up for free, I will write another 5 star review. For me it is almost impossible to carry and drop off to any drop off location. Looking forward to complete this unit. ... show more

Economical desk. Very stylish and easy to assemble. I bought it as a xmas gift for my daughter. The plastic feet are holding up well as there were some reviews concerned about plastic feet. The hutch is interchangeable as this was not very clear in the description. The assemble instructions cover both options of having the hutch on the left side or right side. Didn't give 5 stars because the top of the hutch was cracked. I did get a replacement but still a hassle to remove and replace the cracked one. I was desperate to re-do our office space. My husband and I share the space and I needed new desks for both of us. This helped me organize his mess and the look and color blended and mixed well with the other pieces I ordered. Size wise it was a little more compact that the mess of old desks we had however it fit a lot better in the space and provided more structure and storage. Therefore, there was no compromise or shortage but it helped clean up the space well.
