I hate using slats and didn't want to place the weight of a boxspring and heavy gel mattress on slats attached to my bedframe so I got one of those meta bed bases off Amazon, sat that in the middle of my upholstered bedframe, and laid the bunkie board down. This provided amazing support for my 15" gel hybrid mattress. Real wood, not cardboard or some other material that would warp from the weight. Totally worth it!!

Very sturdy & well made bunkie board. Works & fits perfectly for my platform metal bedframe. My mattress does slide just a bit on it but nothing serious. It serves the purposes that I bought it for which were support & potential damage to my mattress from an ornery kitten under the bed. It's heavy duty, well made, and not flimsy at all.

My fiance is a big guy (220lb)... we were experiencing some sagging in the middle of our bed. Its a 16 inch deep memory foam mattress. We had to leave our old wooden box spring at our old house (it wouldnt fit up the stairs); so when we moved we put a piece of 1/2 inch plywood under the mattress on top of the bed slats for more support, but it wasn't enough, we were still sagging in the middle which was making my back hurt. I got this, we tossed it right on top of the plywood, and it really helps provide the extra support we needed. We tried it as soon as we installed it and it made a huge difference. I will update after we have had it for some time. Update- this did not provide enough support for us 😕 i ended up processing a return. They told me to keep it and did a refund. So I am happy with that solution but sadly we are back in the market for something else.
