My kids (8 and 6) absolutely love this toy! This toy is fun and will help them improve motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving! It looks too plastic on the outside. It would be nice if it could be more refined.

    • Good Gift Idea for Sporty Kiddos
My son's good friend is a basketball fan to a huge degree. He's only 9, but he started playing last year and can't wait for the season to start this year. As such, he's into anything and everything basketball. He lives in a large complex, so they always have kids coming in and out. My poor friend - his mom - is always looking for non-screen stuff for the kids to play with. I saw this and loved the idea. It incorporates his favorite sport with an interactive game. The games is large, but not huge. Word to the wise: they little tokens are tucked into a compartment on the bottom! I couldn't find them for a minute and started to get concerned. It does come with 3 small basketballs, but you'll need/want to get other stuff to put in there. Some of those cute mochis would be a nice choice, or candy - even fruit snacks in the little pouches. I think this is awesome, but....Why D batteries? Those things are so expensive and hard to find (I always have AA and AAA on hand, but not Ds). I wish that this came with a rechargeable, USB option. The media could not be loaded. If you’re looking for a nice game for the smaller kids, this is a good option. Your older kids might get bored after a few tries. The claw works well and it is easy to maneuver. It comes with the 3 mini basketballs and some tokens. There are 3 joysticks, one that moves the claw left or right, another moves the claw forward or backwards. The last joystick moves the claw up or down, when it moves down it automatically opens the claw and once it’s moved up it begins to close. You have about a minute to grab what you can before it runs out of time and turns off. You have to insert another token to try again. There is a switch for the sounds by the joysticks, which is great because the music can get a little annoying after a few plays. So you can easily play without the sounds which is nice. The only real downside to this game is that you are very limited to what you can put inside. Anything that doesn’t fit completely within the claw will not be picked up. So your best bet is to get toys and candy that are the same size or smaller than the basketball. I plan to use this at a kids party to give out prizes ( probably use small clear balls and write the prize inside them), but I did test it out with my godson (7y/o) and he loved it. ... show more

My son had one of these claws machine when he was younger. He loved filling it with candy and small toys and when he had friends over, he liked letting them all have turns. This machine is so similar, plays fun carnival type music and then claw is easy for little ones to maneuver. This machine is actually cool for practicing eye hand coordination and visual motor integration in a fun way. ... show more

This claw machine is super cute. It works like standard claw games, where you have a limited amount of time to grab your prize. The prize also has to be able to fit within the claw. I plan on putting a bunch of candy and small toys inside for people to just randomly play with it.
