  • Lingering Soap Residue, Taste before Feeding!
Color: Red Style: Bumkins
Please taste food before you use this. I've been using this dish for a few weeks and loved it. It's extremely sturdy and suctions well. Well, last week my son refused to eat his food even though he's usually a really good eater so I decided to eat his left overs. This food tasted like soap! I chalked it up to not thoroughly rinsing and didn't give it another thought. The next time my son refused to eat I noticed it was from the same dish. I tasted the food and again it tasted like soap! After hand washing, dish washing, scrubbing, boiling, and doing everything I can, I still can't get the soap residue out of the dish. It seems as if it has been leeched into the product itself. I don't know if it's something I did wrong or if I received a bad product, but please taste your child's food before you feed them from this product. I feel horrible that I've been feeding my son soap-food. The soap taste lingers and makes me feel queasy, so I can't imagine how awful it must be for my child. He also has been getting on and off diarrhea that we couldn't pin-point. I don't know if it's from the soap residue but we will be able to find out soon. This product is going in the trash immediately! Be careful! ... show more

  • Suction is terrible
Color: Gray Style: Bumkins
The media could not be loaded. This thing is terrible. The quality of the plate is nice but it doesn’t actually suction to a counter top at all. Very disappointed especially given the price point. Watch the video to see what I mean

The media could not be loaded. I saw all these bad reviews and purchased regardless because I’ve tried munchkin and nuby “suction plates”. Those didn’t work for us at all. I didn’t expect these to do much either but I figured it was worth a shot. My son can’t get these off the table. They don’t budge. I don’t have to press down hard to get it stuck, it honestly sticks to the counter when I’m preparing his meal. I took a video of him this morning tugging on this plate with all his might and couldn’t get it to move! Haha The plates don’t have lingering smell, they don’t hold onto soap from washing, they don’t warp in the bottom rack of the dish washer, super durable and I plan to buy more. I love that I can now feed my son at the table and give him a plate rather than giving him one or two pieces of food at a time. The portion sizes are great. I have zero complaints about these plates and will definitely recommend them to all moms I know!! I attached the video of him tugging on it to take it off the table. This is after washing in the dishwasher and I didn’t wipe my table before placing it down. ... show more

  • Does not suction well
Color: Gray Style: Bumkins
The media could not be loaded. I definitely don’t recommend this item if you’re getting it for the suction part. It was on my daughters tray for less than five seconds and she knew exactly how to get it off, all she does is pull on it .. The product itself is very high-quality and an overall really good place but have to give it one star because the reason I got it was for the suction. I posted a video of how easily she got it off. ... show more

  • One of the best
Color: Blue Style: Bumkins
I’m a toddler mom and special educator (who sometimes provides feeding-related therapy). For these reasons, I’m also a mealtime product junkie! I love these plates (they are one of my top two favorites) and this is why... 1. The section sizes are perfect for my son’s portion needs. 2. The sections are deeper than in many other, similar products. This helps to reduce mess and helps to support independent self-feeding. The higher “walls” provide a little assistance for tiny fingers whose fine motor skills are still developing. 3. The large suction cup on the bottom makes it more difficult for those cute, tiny fingers to launch a plate of tomato sauce across the room (and all over your dog, floor, and couch). 4. Unlike some other toddler plates, I have not had any issue with these staining (they even stand up to that tough tomato sauce previously mentioned!) They are also top-shelf dishwasher safe, so two thumbs-up from me! 5. They are sturdier than many other kiddie plates, making them easier for children to carry themselves without them bending and spilling. The only thing stopping me from purchasing a million of these is that they’re not neatly stackable and I just don’t have the cabinet real estate for that! There are similar products (minus the suction cup) that do nicely nest/stack. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY- food smells and tastes like plastic
Color: Blue Style: Bumkins
DO NOT buy this product. Recently tasted my toddlers food and it was so plasticky. Just trying one morsel of rice already gave me that horrible taste. I am left feeling so guilty that I may have been feeding my child toxic chemicals. I don’t believe that this is child safe as it’s not possible that a food safe item would make food smell and taste so bad. I have not ever placed this in a microwave or dishwasher etc.. and have only had this item for less than 3 months. How can this be sold for babies!?!????!! ... show more

  • Ignore 40 watt light bulb reviews...
Color: Pink Style: Bumkins
I absolutely love these plates. They are very sturdy and have great suction. Perfect size compartments for easily seeing and picking up food. I have a 1 and 2 year old and these work so much better than the Disney suction plates. Though cute, these ones are far more economical. The 40 watt light bulbs that gave this product a low rating based on smells, stains and lingering soap residue is because they don't read the instructions that came with the product. Let me simplify for you before purchasing: Soak in boiling hot water for 5 minutes to deep clean. (This removes the lingering smells and soap residue!) Dark colored foods (spaghetti sauce!) may stain the plate. Clean with unabrasive chemicals. Overall, I think the care of this product is fairly straightforward. Don't let 40 watt bulb reviews prevent you from being a 150 watt bulb. ... show more
