Description

1 New Release in Legal Education Writing The purpose of this book is simple: I want you to become an articulation expert. Articulation is often the key to winning suppression hearings, trials, and civil rights lawsuits. Articulation has two goals. First, you need to provide enough evidence to prove a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Second, you must describe how you obtained your evidence lawfully. In other words, were your searches and seizures in compliance with the Fourth Amendment? And were your confessions, if any, in compliance with the Fifth Amendment? Do that and you have a bulletproof report! The Key to a Bulletproof Report: Articulation Expertise As a law enforcement officer, the ability to clearly and effectively describe your actions and evidence is crucial to creating a "bulletproof report." Whether you're facing a suppression hearing, trial, or civil rights lawsuit, being able to articulate how you obtained your evidence and followed the law can be the key to winning the case. But what exactly is articulation, and how can you become an expert in this crucial skill? In short, it's the process of providing enough evidence to prove a crime beyond a reasonable doubt, while also describing how you obtained that evidence lawfully. This includes ensuring that your searches and seizures are in compliance with the Fourth Amendment, and that any confessions you obtain are in compliance with the Fifth Amendment. Our book is specifically designed to help you master the art of articulation and create a bulletproof report. We provide in-depth guidance and practical tools to help you effectively and legally obtain and present evidence, and build a strong case for your investigations. Don't miss out on this essential resource for law enforcement professionals. Check out our book today and take the first step towards becoming an articulation expert. Read more

  • Wish I'd had this right out of the academy
Format: Paperback
Report writing is probably not my favorite part of the job. Good documentation and articulation is something that seems to take some experience. This book is laid out in a format that's easy to follow and will help the new and experienced LEO alike in writing reports that will hold up under scrutiny. Would make a great gift for the LEO in your life. ... show more

  • Excellent Book.
Format: Paperback
As a current field training officer, on day one of field training, I give this book to my officer in training and encourage them to read it throughout the phase. I can definitely tell those that do and those that do not read it. Anytime I hear an officer complain about their reports being rejected, I recommend this book to them. I even go back and reread the book often as a refresher. I have heard newer officers say they wish they had an outline to follow while completing reports. While we often do not have guides on how to do things in this career, I feel this book is an excellent tool to assist in ensuring your report has everything it needs. Whether that is a homicide report or a simple theft report. I HIGHLY recommend this book to both senior and rookie officers. ... show more

  • Errors
Format: Paperback
This is a book about writing. It is very poorly written. Within the first few pages, I found myself reading a full paragraph that had been copied from the previous page. The sentence structure and grammatical errors made it very difficult to read. I found myself proofreading this book more than reading it for its intended purpose: teaching cops how to write police reports. In my opinion, if you are an analytical reader looking for a well-written writer’s guide, this book is not worth the price. ... show more
