This is a nice little budget planner with a cute cover and a quality feel. The cover material is attractive and durable, and overall it feels well made. One feature I really appreciate is that it's undated, so you can start using it whenever you want without wasting pages. It is styled very much like a bullet journal. That said, it's more basic than I was expecting. The layout is straightforward and easy to follow, but I was hoping for a few more detailed sections or tracking tools. Since I've been budgeting for a while, I found it a little too simple for my needs. I do think that's actually one of its strengths, though. If you're just getting started with budgeting or want something that's not overwhelming, this planner would be a great choice. It provides a simple way to organize your finances without a lot of extra complexity. This Budget Planner & Monthly Bill Organizer is the ideal companion book to help you track your monthly expenses with ease. It even comes with a couple of convenient pockets to help store some important papers and/or receipts. The “bookmark” or tab is helpful as well to immediately let you keep track of the month or specific time you are currently tracking, and there are enough pages to allow this book to keep you on track for quite a long time. The blue cover and the little bear adds a slight bit of levity to help make it “fun,” even though as we all know budgeting it anything but! the entire book itself is a good size, small enough to be portable and large enough to hold a year or more worth of budgets. The quality is top notch, this is not a poor (no pun intended) quality book filled with thin or cheap paper. It will not fall apart, and it is going to last you a good long time, which is nice if you intend to keep track of your finances long term. I highly recommend it for anyone who is trying to get, and keep, a strong handle on their finances. Five stars! ... show more

I got this for my mom to help her get a little more organized with budgeting. She’s old school and struggles with technology, but she also genuinely prefers handwriting everything because it’s easier for her to process and make mental notes as she goes.     • Fun little starter budget book

If you're a nerd that likes lists, to-do items, checking the boxes next to those items, organizing, and tidiness like me, you'll like this. Budgeting is hard. Getting started with a budget can be overwhelming and scary enough to keep you from even trying. Give this book a chance to help you begin. My husband and I took a financial course from a well-known guru, whose name rhymes with Rave Damsey, and it was great. It gave us access to an app that I can do a monthly budget on, but- I would 100% rather have something handwritten. The app drops my bank connection pretty frequently so I can't easily add transactions. My book stays with me and I shove receipts in the pocket they have provided in the back. At the end of the day, or when I have time, the transactions are written down. I love the pre-filled items like mortgage,/rent, water, trash, etc. They also include several blank lines to add any additional expenses you may have. The pie chart is hilarious, but also quite helpful. I was able to see where the money was going more easily and I was able to scale back in the areas that were too heavily shaded. In the small calendar, I write down when payments are auto drafted so I have a whole-month view of when money is going to disappear from our account. This lets me plan for larger purchases so I'm not accidently overlapping large withdrawls. I've done that before and overdrafted. Gotta learn somehow, right? This would be a great gift for someone young, just starting out or for someone that is on their way to starting a budget. I don't think it's enough for someone that's working the Rave Damsey program, or some other financial strategy for getting out of debt, but it would be a great tool to aid in the effort.
