I'd call it a "nice casual," well suited for work. I would not recommend this for athletic use as the sole and arches are not designed for that type of use. But for office use, where there is not long distance walking, but ,more sitting, it is RIGHT ON!

I bought these for my husband for our 3-week trip to Europe. He prefers thicker merino socks, but he still found them comfortable after an initial break-in period pre-trip. They do run narrow - he usually is a medium width. They looked equally good with jeans and slacks. We're going to order another pair, but size up. For the price, you can't beat these.
