  • Voilà
Size: 11.5 Color: Zephyr/Violet/Green
Recently, I was officially diagnosed with plantar fasciitis while also being diagnosed with Tarsal tunnel syndrome, oh and my great toe started hurting. Both feet. Ugh! some of the worse foot pain out there. Three things: 1) I went up a half size because EVERYTHING about both my feet were hurting. 2)I have soooo many sneakers/ clogs/ shoes for work at between $100 to $180 apiece, it gives privileged, overindulgent to the uninformed: The reality is that I kept buying different shoes seeking to relieve the pain of feeling like Ive been standing on nails. 3) I finally decided on "Try before you buy" tried and eventually bought these on the advice of my foot and ankle specialist. Best decision. For the first time in the last two or more years I've worn the same shoe to work for two weeks. (I work three to four 12hr shifts/week.) Here's why, I like a soft padded foot bed, particularly at my heels. These are abundantly padded. HOWEVER; foot specialist, and Physical therapist informed me that plantar fasciitis needs a firm foot bed with adequate arch support for relief. Uhmmmm!!! But how's this for plot twist: My podiatrist ordered me custom inserts, five weeks later they arrive, and they are FIRM! he fits them OVER the inserts of these sneakers and voilà! I now have my plush padded foot bed, good ankle support while the shoe is deep enough to accept a custom insert without unnatural pressure at the arch, toe box, top or ball of foot. In fact I do NOT feel the inserts at all. I think my decision to go up half size may have helped the insert fit. Shoes still are bigger but does not feel loose or unstable. These are breathable and stylish even for my sz 11 feet AND I went up a half size. Great shoe. I also think they're hand washable. ... show more

  • The best general tennis shoes/walking shoes of my life
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Black/Black/Ebony
I was a bit hesitant to order these shoes because I've myself never heard of Brooks. I took them out of the box and thought "That is a really thick sole." And then I put them on my feet and I was thrilled nearly 100%. Pros - The regular width shoe is perfect for someone who has a generally skinny foot but a slightly wider ball of foot area. This has been a challenge for my entire life and I've often had to either buy wide shoes that make my feet swim or have shoes that are too tight around my toes and ball of my foot. - The toe area is long enough over center to accommodate those of us with a long second toe, or Greek toe. This can be especially helpful if you suffer pain or potential hammer toe due to cramped shoes. My other toes feel supported and don't feel like they're swimming, but my long toe also has plenty of room and support. - The cushy support from the nitrogen injected spongey soles is something I never knew I needed. - The arch support feel fantastic for high arches. I didn't even feel the need to switch out the insole. - The top of the shoe is stretchy and breathable. - I have felt comfortable and supported since I started wearing these about a week ago. I had major foot surgery in 2021 and have had issues with my feet and toes ever since. These don't solve all those problems but I feel a lot better. I didn't feel like I could comfortably walk 10,000 steps per day and now I do. I'm going over 13,000+ per day. - They were easy to wear even without "breaking in." I've had only minimal breaking in pains and that is a really big deal for me because that's never been the case before. Cons - The shape and height of the heel back on this shoe rubs into my heel, not just on the bridge but on the sides as well. This meant that I had to buy socks with a heel tab on them. I am not a huge fan of those kinds of socks because they are always super thick. This means that a lot of the glorious room I got in these shoes was then taken away from me by thick socks that I didn't even want to buy. So just remember that if you buy these shoes you now also have to buy $20 of socks. - The shoelaces are not typical for tennis shoes and they're the kind of tubular ones. This means that they are harder to untie and more likely to get stuck in annoying knots. - I had to relearn to walk in these shoes. The sole is so thick and springy that walking is not intuitive at first. I fell off my walking pad the first time I used it with these shoes. Overall, these are really great shoes and I highly recommend them. ... show more

  • Very Comfortable
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Blue/Icy Pink/Rose
I have had planters fasciitis and know within 30 minutes if these shoes will be comfortable or cause pain. These are nice and the wide seems true to width. Supports without pinching my foot. May be back to purchase 1 more before they close out this edition. Do a lot of walking and these help me do it with ease. ... show more

  • Worth Every Dollar
Size: 10 Wide Color: Blue/Icy Pink/Rose
These are amazingly comfortable and supportive shoes. I have bad knees and find that I can walk pretty long distances in comfort when wearing these. I love the rounded toe box because I have wide, flat feet. I usually wear 9.5WW or 10W and when I bought my first pair, I was professionally fitted with a 10W. I now have several pairs in different colors that I purchased on Amazon and the sizing is consistent. I have found that they are a little less expensive on Amazon compared to the actual store. ... show more

  • If you have wide feet, size UP!
Size: 7 Wide Color: Coconut/Aqua/Autumn Sunset
If you’re reading this, size up a half size when purchasing! These run SMALLER than previous glycerin models! I have always been a size 6.5 WIDE in Brooks and have had several previous “Glycerin” models, so I was very surprised when 6.5 wide was not only too small but too NARROW. I sized up to a 7, and it fits much better. That being said, Brooks is stepping up their game in terms of the style and colors of their shoes. In my opinion, the Glycerin 21 is the most attractive shoe I’ve owned from brooks and the first that doesn’t somewhat resemble “old people shoes”. Looks aside, I will say that I like the fit of the previous model — Glycerin 20 — a bit better. The bottom of the shoes are very padded and heavier like Hokas, which is great for walking but not the best for running. Overall, Brooks is still the best option out there in terms of comfort and traction. I wear brooks every day for my job (on my feet and walking ALL day as a fitness professional), and my feet and back always feel great — unlike with other brands! Great shoe. Just make sure to size UP, especially if you have wide feet! ... show more
