Review of: Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 Neutral Running Shoe Color: Grey/Chateau Grey/Portabella Size 7.5 By measurement, I'm a size 7 regular/medium. Most of my exercise shoes are 7.5 regular, as is this one. The width is perfectly comfortable on me. Snug at first, but after 3 weeks of a lot of wear they feel incredible. Length is great, although just barely. The foot bed is soft but firm. Not squishy. I need a decent arch support and these are nice and high and sturdy. The color (see above) is gorgeous and will coordinate with anything. The heel stays put without sliding. The heel also has the new heel style that makes them easy to slide your feet into, and you don't feel it at all when you point your toe. Great cushioning in the soles. I feel stable and straight with my slight overpronation. I immediately went on vacation when these shoes arrived, so I took a chance. I walked about 10,000 steps a day for 8 days! Including rushing through airports. These shoes felt amazing the entire time. Only took a couple of days to stretch just perfectly to my feet. At first they were digging into my ankles :( It's towards the front of the inner ankle on both shoes/feet. After an hour in them I had dents in the skin. It's right at the point where the top shoe lace hole is. It's a hard piece with no cushion. The Ghost 14 was not like this. However, I took those points and bent them backwards quite aggressively several times in the first day. I also loosened the laces all the way down the shoe, then tied them just a bit looser than I normally would. I wore them around the house for an entire day like this and they felt GREAT. Then I took them on my trip and had no issues. So I was able to completely solve that issue. I've seen others complain of the same thing. I have skinny ankles, a bit bony you might say. So it's not an issue of my size. So although I do think the manufacturer should try to fix the issue, I was able to fix it myself. It's a great shoe and I highly recommend. ... show more

Size: 11 Narrow Color: Oyster/Apricot/Pink
Even though my podiatrist recommended these shoes, I was hesitant to buy them. I have plantar fasciitis which brings with it significant pain. To complicate matters, I have a narrow foot, and it is almost impossible to find a tennis shoe in a narrow size that actually works. To say that I was skeptical is an understatement. I am pleased to say that I was definitely wrong. They are very comfortable, lightweight, and have good support. The color selection is a plus! If you need a narrow shoe, this is a place to go. I understand they carry other sizes, but narrows are difficult to find. I have no hesitation in recommending these shoes. These shoes are so comfortable! And so cute! I wear them for long days of walking at Disney, and my feet felt great the entire time. My ankles feel stable, and I don't feel like I'm bending my foot any strange way. I wear them with all my outfits, so they go with everything! I have tried every shoe possible for Disney, but these are by far the most Supportive, comfortable, and perfect for getting in lots of steps. Definitely recommend! ... show more

Love Brooks. Love love love. I really like Ghost 16 but saw these in this color and thought I would try. Feels and fits same, although the toe box is a ~fraction~ less in size so had to wear them for a bit before totally comfy. These shoes save my back, knees, ankles. I am older but when wearing Brooks, I have a spring in my step and feel much more surefooted. Taking corners at a clip is doable! ... show more

These are not used for running, but for everyday use in winter. They feel so good to walk in, are good for my arch support and achilles tendon issues. I chose the wrong color, as this light colored shoe turned as a dirty colored as if I didn't care about it. But the fit is superior, the cush factor is excellent. I got the 16s a while ago and they weren't great and gave me blisters. I decided to try the 17s since they were on sale and got a wide size. Really good quality and comfortable. Only walked so far but excited to run in them!

Replacing two pairs of 4 months old Brooks shoes, the Glycerin and the Ghost Max 3 in Men standard width. Very complicated to order shoes online. However, it is difficult to find wide shoes in stores. In men, I am size 10; In women , size 11.5. Because it is a wide shoe, I had to ordered it half size smaller. Do I have to order in 2-E based on the following info? Brooks: For a foot measuring 10.5" long and 4" wide, you need a Women’s Size 11 or 11.5 in Brooks Running shoes, specifically in a 2E (Extra-Wide) width. A 4" width at a 10.5 length maps to an extra-wide volume, and Brooks generally recommends going up a half to a full size larger than your measured foot length for running. ... show more

    • Could walk all day in these!

I was looking for a new pair of sneakers for walking as I noticed my other shoes would leave my feet achy, legs sore, and in some cases some of my toes going numb. I have been walking 2.5 miles each day, and I feel like I could walk a lot father than that when wearing them. I think the soles are thick, so if you aren't used to wearing shoes like that it might take some time to adjust. But they are comfortable and offer great support. I think sizing is accurate as I am a size 10 and the 10 fit me. They are costly, but I do believe in getting what you paid for. And these are really great shoes! ... show more
