This is my second pair of Brooks Ghost shoes. I have narrow feet and it has taken me years to find a brand for walking shoes that I could rely will fit when I need a new pair. I am a size 11 narrow in shoes. I came across Brooks about 3+ years ago. I had never worn them but I have tried Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, Naturalizer, and Sketchers. New Balance were the only ones that fit my but they lacked any design or fun colors for what I wanted in a shoe. I am a heavy walker, meaning I strike the ground a little hard with each step, so there is pressure on my heels. I like the Ghost model shoe because it has a good amount of heel cushion without losing stability. Brooks uses some material that provides cushion and a little bounce without being too springy feeling. Some brands soles are very squishy and/or thick causing a lot of lateral tilting movement which can result in me twisting my ankle. Who needs that? I prefer to get black shoes, again size 11 so they can double as a canoe, but I like that I still have a little color on the shoes. I very much dislike all black athletic shoes with black uppers and black bottoms - to me they look like old man shoes. The first Ghost model I bought lasted me over 3 years, though I've needed to replace them for a couple months, they still stood up and provided good support. Honestly I would still be using them but the fabric on top finally starting splitting from wear. I do walk about 10,000+ steps/per day so they have gotten tons of use since I use them every single day of the year. The soles were still in good shape with tread left which was not my experience with Nike or New Balance. So if you need a pair of reliable, comfortable, supportive and cute shoes I highly recommend Brooks. :) ... show more

So far they’re great, I’ve had them for a couple weeks now. They hold up well for what I (young adult woman) do, which is mainly walking on asphalt, trails, light running, and a lot of standing. I love the way they allow me to actually roll through in my step, and I would consider them comfortable. I typically wear Nike (7.5 women’s), but I ordered a size 7 after trying on a different color in-store at a local Famous Footwear. Shoes were sent in the correct size, and they fit very comfortably. My biggest complaint, which is why I knocked off a star, is no fault of the manufacturer but that of Amazon. I ordered these as “new” but I received ones that were used. I included pictures of them right out of the box. A little disappointed that I spent so much money and couldn’t have received a brand new pair, but they still work fine and there was nothing else off with them so I’m not overly concerned with it. Just wanted to make others aware. Overall: I would recommend them, but if “brand new” matters to you then I would probably opt to get them from an actual shoe store or their actual website. ... show more

So happy that I found another pair of Brooks that I love. Great for narrow feet and for fitting in my orthotics and they look cute. I wore them for a weekend trip in NYC right out of the box and got the comfort and support I needed. Ordered a second pair in a different color as they’re that good!

Arrived timely and as expected new in box. Size 10.5 fits my feet perfectly as one foot is a 10 and one a little over, having not too wide of a foot but narrow heel. I usually wear a 9.5 sandal. Hope that helps someone with sizing. 5’ 8” 150 pounds. They don’t look huge (like not white tissue boxes!) and I’ve already received a couple of compliments on them this first week of having them. Pros: Ghost has a firm cushion that gets softer after some use. Love the bright and flashy colors. I wear Brooks for work and they lasted longer than other shoes. I go pain free for my 12.5 hour shift and they have a smooth transition. Cons: Even after using all the lace holes, Ghost just doesn’t stay locked on the heel and the laces are too short to do a heel lock. They are definitely wider on the lateral sides of the shoe which is completely different from the narrow Glycerine model. I love this and can get away with not ordering a wide. Lastly, Brooks doesn’t ventilate well and they will smell like moldy laundry. Remove the inserts to dry out after heavy use to help this. I’ve worn every pair of shoes I know and replace them every 6-8 months. I also size up an entire size. Each year Brooks changes something about a model, so I will give the Ghost another chance. I liked the Glyerine better, but I need a wide in them which makes the color selection limited.
