Purchased these on Amazon after trying on at an expensive shoe store. The fit is great, very comfortable and didn't need a break-in period. The grips on the bottom are two-way so they ae helpful with uphill as well as downhill. They do great on the trails! I've run several races on them so far, from 4 miles to 8 miles and they are great!

The media could not be loaded. I love the vibrant colours and the support that it provides but the material feels just a bit too coarse for a walking shoe, I will not be able to wear this without socks...if you have tender feet like mine, this is probably not the best option for you. As a nurse that "runs" for 12 hour shifts,I only buy Brooks. I love this pair. They fit great, like all Brooks. The color pops and I get at least 2 comments every shift. Very comfortable on my aging, tired feet.

I purchased these base off a review from people mag and will never do that again. The support is ok but the laces are super cheap and short. Constantly needing to tying them over and over I replaced the laces with old ones.

I love my Cascadia 17s. They are cute. They are good for hikes, good for walking, have a wide toe box and space for movement, and although I don’t use them for trail running, I imagine they are a darn good shoe for that as well. If your are looking to pack 1-2 pairs of shoes for a trip, this is a great, versatile option, particularly if you find yourself hiking and walking a city in the same day or week. There was no break in period and excellent structure that keeps your food steady for some easy-moderate hikes. I have never been uncheered by a Brooks shoe, but this one is up there with some my favorites.
