As someone who values precision and optimized performance in all aspects, I approach running gear with a critical eye. The Brooks Ghost Max 2 doesn't just meet expectations; it significantly exceeds them, earning a definitive five-star rating. This isn't merely a shoe; it's a thoughtfully engineered instrument designed for maximum efficiency and sustained comfort over long distances. What immediately stands out is the supreme cushioning. Brooks's DNA LOFT v2 foam delivers a plushness that absorbs impact without feeling sluggish or unresponsive. For the INTJ, this translates to a reduction in energy waste from repetitive impact, allowing for a more consistent and less fatiguing run. It's an elegant solution to a common physiological challenge. The GlideRoll Technology is another testament to intelligent design. The rocker shape promotes a seamless transition from heel to toe, minimizing effort and encouraging a natural, fluid stride. This isn't a gimmick; it's a practical application of biomechanical principles that genuinely enhances the running experience. It feels less like propulsion and more like a guided, effortless glide. Despite the maximalist cushioning, the Ghost Max 2 maintains a remarkably stable and secure fit. The upper wraps the foot without constriction, providing the necessary containment for confident movement. This balance of comfort and control is crucial; it speaks to a deep understanding of what a runner truly needs: unwavering support without compromise on freedom of movement. In essence, the Brooks Ghost Max 2 is a shoe built for longevity and intelligent performance. It's for the runner who seeks a reliable, well-researched, and ultimately superior tool to achieve their goals. For those who appreciate substance over flashy trends and demand a product that performs exactly as it's intended, the Ghost Max 2 is an undeniable winner. It allows one to focus on the run itself, unburdened by discomfort or inefficiency, which, for an analytical mind, is the highest form of praise. ... show more

    • Ghost Max review
Size: 9 Color: White/Pelican/Oyster
The Ghost Max 2 are more supportive and comfortable than the Ghost Max 3. Great shoes!

    • Most comfortable shoes ever!
These are the best fitting, most comfortable shoes I've ever worn for standing up or daily wear. (They're still not Keen sandals., but...) They support the foot and arch perfectly, and the foot imprints into the insole and forms a perfect custom fit. The traction, though the soles are thin and flat, is great, no issues. The color is great, all muted black with no extraneous colors or overly visible advertising. They are in my opinion far better than the adrenaline gts24, which made me feel like I was falling forward. The closest competitor shoe I've found is the New Balance 1080, which may or may not be better for walking depending on how your center of gravity is. P.S. Had these four months now and still the same. Only potential downside I've noticed is that the soles "poot" on hard surfaces, probably because they have fairly deep air channels in the middle of the sole that allow air to be forced out as I walk? Doesn't bother me at all. ... show more

    • Amazingly durable—and great looking
Size: 10.5 Color: Black/White/Fiery Red
My first Brooks. The toe box is a bit small so I got wide in my second pair. Very durable inside and outside. I’ve put 400 miles on these and they still feel comparable to my new pair I just slipped on. I’m only a few years into running. I was an On fan. But Brooks has won me over in feel, look, and durability. ... show more

    • Good shoes for walking, but they run small, at least for me.
Size: 11.5 X-Wide Color: Black/Black/Ebony
I purchased these shoes specifically for my daily walks where I'm aimin for 10-12k steps. At first, I purchased a 11-Wide shoe which is a bit larger than I'd normally get, but I read that some people thought they ran a little small, especially in the toe area, so I bumped up the size in the hopes it would fit well. When I received them, I found that they are still a bit tight in the toe area, but I was hoping they'd break in. However, after a week of my walks, I found that the shoes were comfortable with the exception of the toe area. I also found that at first, I had a little bit of calf pain, but that subsided after about five days and now there's zero pain when walking. I decided that I'm going to return the 11-Wides and I ordered 11.5-Extra Wides. I received those yesterday and put them through their paces today. These fit much better and are much more comfortable. The tightness around the toe area is gone and these are a keeper. I find the padding and support is very good and they're comfortable. I don't know how they'd hold up for running or jogging, but that wasn't why I bought them. They also don't look bad and I can wear them all day with no discomfort, though I typically switch shoes and only use these when I'm on my actual walks, versus general running around. These are my first shoes of this brand and I'd buy them again, but I just need to understand I need to go up about a full size and go wider if I want comfort. I knocked off a star simply because an 11-Wide should have been more than sufficient, but they were not. I've never had to buy a shoe larger than an 11-Wide my entire life until these. ... show more
