I love my Brooks! I had plantar faciitis and these solved it! They are not cheap but they are worth every penny! Another great thing about Brooks is you can get them in wide or extra-wide. If I had a complaint it would be the lack of plain navy blue options.

Simply outstanding shoes. Brooks was my preferred running shoe during my Marine Corps career, and now I know why. Bought the shoes for my retirement walking program and their comfort and support makes the Ghost 18 a pleasure to use. I did add a stability insert because of my severe pronation, but only because that’s what I do to all my shoes regardless of how stable they are. The cushioning under the entire foot has the perfect between softness and firmness, which speaks to design excellence by Brooks. Great looking shoe too, with easy foot access when putting them on and some of the best shoelaces in the market. No need to double knot here. The Ghost 18’s are so comfortable. I use them as a daily walking shoe. I pronate a bit and need a snug, not too tight, supportive not structured shoe with a comfortable upper and soft, firm (not bouncy) sole. These shoes deliver!! The upper mesh is super breathable, the fit is snug but not tight, and the toe box is on the medium to wide size. Fits like a glove with just the right amount of space. After years wearing New Balance shoes, and unfortunately being disappointed with NB widths, fit and availability recently, I decided to try something else and ended up with these Brooks "Ghost 18". So far they're a good replacement. The width is definitely working for me, the heel and sole cushioning feels a bit "tall" but I'm getting used to it and expect I'll end up liking it. I like the nylon material, as it seems to breathe well. I wish the tongue was a little longer and thicker at the very end, instead of the little thin "flap" at the edge, which tends to fold inside when you first put your foot in, but it stays put well enough after you pull it out. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the Brooks Ghost 18, it feels like a good replacement for the New Balance 847 I wore for years. ... show more

Was looking for a shoe to replace my older ones from another manufacturer. After doing a lot of research I found that these were highly rated (although a bit more money than my older ones). I decided to give it a try and am very happy I did. They are lighter weight and the cushioning is very good along with the shoes overall support. I walk about 7-8 miles a day and having comfortable shoes is very important to me. I've heard most athletic shoes only hold up for about 6 months. Will see how these do. Of course at this price point I would hope they hold up a bit longer. ... show more

I normally use a pair of Nike Vaporfly’s when I run outside but felt unstable running on the treadmill. I bought the Ghost 18’s to accomplish treadmill runs and so far they are great. The shoes have enough cushion to absorb my stride but aren’t soft enough where I feel off balance when my foot strikes. I walked around in them the first week to break them in before running and they felt like I was walking on clouds. They fit true to size but are slightly tight around the toe box. If you have wide feet you may want an extra .5 size. Overall I would recommend. ... show more

Coming from the Nike Pegasus 40 4E to this Brooks Ghost 18 4E feels like an upgrade out of the box. The ghost 18 feels very comfortable underfoot. The padding on the sides and top and in the tongue feels great while not being too thick or overdone. The lacings are quality as well. I bought it for work (teacher) and the design has a modern look that feels appropriate for that as well as for my age (41 m) which is subjective I know. At this price point of $150 I feel it’s definitely worth the money. As a first time Brooks buyer I will be trying more of their products based on my experience with this shoe. Most likely I’ll get the Glycerin as my next purchase. ... show more
