The padded collar and tongue add extra comfort, and there was zero break-in period for me. Performance: I tested these on both pavement and treadmill runs, and they provided consistent comfort and grip. The midsole feels responsive, offering a smooth heel-to-toe transition. Even after a few hours on my feet, my knees and lower back felt less fatigued compared to my older running shoes. Build Quality: The upper mesh is breathable and flexible, while the outsole shows no early signs of wear after several runs. Stitching and bonding look precise and durable. Long story short: Great shoe. Worth the price for any avid runner. Been a diehard fan of brook's ghost line for a few years now. Been a solid choice for running. Great to see the sizing has stayed the same from the prior ghost models. Was able to order my same size and it fit perfectly. It's always a little worrisome when they change over to a new model, in the past I've had other brands I've loved become unwearable after a new version comes out. But, luckily that's never been the case with these. They continue to be extremely comfortable and supportive every time. While not being quite as supportive as maybe the Hokas, I find they achieve a great balance of support while maintaining a good feeling of what your walking on. The back heel of the shoe is soft, which is great for preventing any kind of blisters or soreness from the shoe rubbing. I've had other brands with a hard or semi hard heel area, and man is it rough. ( no pun intended) The ghost 17 still maintains the classis Brook's shoe look, which is hit or miss. But I do feel that the 17s lean slightly more towards a modern tennis shoe look than earlier Ghost models - which is a plus for me. The color choices this time around aren't the best, with only about four choices at launch. That said, they are better than prior years I feel. I opted for the white/orange and am overall very pleased with it. Good shoe through and through. Mine tend to last around 8 months, 6 if I'm fairly active most days.

Needed a cushioned neutral shoe for the gym and casual wear. Although a "running" shoe, it serves that purpose. I prefer to run/walk in Asics stability shoes, which are not suited for the gym. The Brooks Ghost is an all round great shoe - ankles do not roll, not too cushioned like some shoes, breathable, very lightweight, not too narrow/tight, looks great. I also appreciate that Brooks went back to a true black/white color which was lacking in the previous model. Recommend.

Decent road show. Not as soft as the Glycerin 22 but since Brooks can't come out with any good colors I gave these a shot. They are about as soft as the Glycerin 20s when they are worn out

Amazing shoe! Most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. Put them to the test today at work and they were super comfortable. If y I u have really wide feet like me, get the X wide. Also, I sized up from an 11.5 X wide to a 12 X wide and they're perfect. My feet usually start hurting about halfway through my shift, but not with these bad boys. Worth every penny! Thanks Brooks, Happy Feet
