Description

The 33204 Parking Garage is the perfect addition to any BRIO World, connecting the railway and roadways together in a single destination. Three levels of fun: Each of the three levels of the Parking Garage has a fun feature to play with. Arrive at the Parking Garage via either road or railway entrances on the first level and fuel up the two included cars. The solid wooden elevator shaft in the middle of the parking garage makes the second and third levels accessible via a hand crank elevator. On the second level, you can use the spring-loaded trapdoor to load cars onto the car transporter wagon. Or ride all the way to the top level and zoom down the high-speed ramp instead. Rails & roads: The Parking Garage is connected to the BRIO World via both railway and road connections on the first level. Also included are 3 ramp tracks for more open-ended play – 2 for the railway connections and 1 for the road connection. Part of the BRIO World: The Parking Garage is fully compatible with other BRIO World sets, tracks and trains. The 2 colourful cars and car transporter wagon all feature the classic BRIO magnetic couplings allowing for easy connection to each other and other vehicles. 33204 Parking Garage includes 7 pieces: 1x Parking Garage, 1x Red Car, 1x Blue Car, 1x Car Transport Wagon, 2x Railway Ramp Tracks, 1x Road Ramp Track.

My son got this for his fourth birthday and it's been a huge hit! He's always loved parking garages and I was so excited to find him one that goes with his Brio train set. He played with this non-stop for a week! We use the included cars with it, plus his Brio trains, plus some Hot Wheels cars. The Hot Wheels go really fast down the ramp, which has been a big hit. Assembly out of the box was quick and easy, and we were able to do it together (you just snap on the elevator and ramp). It can attach to train tracks in two location, making it a nice corner piece. We have a smaller house and the size has been fine. We got a good deal from Amazon, though I think that the full price comes close to that of some bigger wood parking garages. I was nervous about the elevator being challenging, as my son is slightly behind with fine motor skills and easily frustrated, but it has not been an issue at all. There's a lot of nice detail here -- the elevator, ramp, trap door, lines painted on for parking, helicopter pad, and trap door. I couldn't find a Brio helicopter at all for the helicopter pad, but my friend bought my little guy Harold the Helicopter from the Thomas sets which works well.     • Awkwardly Designed
While there is nothing inherently wrong with this toy, it is awkwardly designed, especially for use on a train table. We just got this for use on our 2-year-old's train table, and I really had a difficult time integrating this into the track layout. One side of the garage base has a track molded into the plastic with male and female connectors. While it's easy enough to connect to standard wooden tracks, it's so large that it has to be placed with the track toward the edge of the table and near a corner if you want to connect it to an existing loop and still have more than one side reachable. When you do this, the slide and the control knob for the elevator end up on the side facing the middle of the table where it's difficult for little arms to reach. The elevator also presented a bit of a problem as the control knob is a bit stiff and only has a tiny handle attached to it. Even though the product says 3+, our little guy has been playing with wooden trains and Brio products since he was 1. He has been playing with toys that have cranks and knobs on them for a long time now, but even he had difficulty with this one. Again, due to the awkward knob placement, the whole garage would lift and shift around as he tried to turn the knob. The other negative is that once the elevator platform is lowered from the top, there is nothing to prevent cars or other toys being dropped into the elevator shaft openings and tangled in the line. I eventually just removed the elevator shaft altogether and let him play with the remaining structure of platforms. Maybe I’ll reintroduce the elevator it in a couple of years if he’s still interested in wooden trains. ... show more

I bought this for my son for his third birthday. It was the only toy we bought him so I wanted to spend a little more for a toy that he would use a lot. He loves it. Sometimes we connect it to his wooden Thomas train tracks and sometimes he just plays with it on its own. He also uses his match cars with it too. It’s also nice that the cars that come with it work on the wooden Thomas train tracks. At three, he can operate the elevator without help. We’ve had it for three months and it’s still in good shape. The one thing I don't like about Brio is the price tag; I feel like I'm getting very little in comparison to what I actually pay. The parking garage itself is a fantastic addition to any wooden railway/road without being too large to find space for. It's designed with play in mind rather than accurately representing a parking garage; our 3 toddlers love pushing everything down the slide. So if you have a child that loves all things on wheels this is the best product of its type (like most Brio Wooden Railway sets tend to be), though I personally wish it was about $10 cheaper than its full retail price. ... show more
