The legendary pizza MRE. It's shelf stable pizza, not dominoes. For what it is, it's fantastic. It tastes kind of like a combination between those small single serving frozen pizzas and a Lunchable. With the full MRE, it'd be pretty decent as a filling meal, but by itself size wise and filling wise it makes for a good hiking/camping snack or midnight snack. Yes, it's got a fair bit more bread than normal. If you expected a saucy fresh slice.. You probably ate too many crayons. If you have the time, nuke it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, throw some parmesan or something on it and it's solid. At about $6 a slice, it's steep, but if you want fresh scooch down to Costco and pay your $1.50 for a hot slice there. If you want to relive some memories or pretend you were in when the MREs were innovative, or need some food that'll be shelf stable for a while, this is the way.

As you can see in the photo, the just-opened pizza slice looks similar to the one in the description photo. Maybe not quite as much pepperoni. But the layer of cheese and pepperoni is very thin, only about 15-20% of the total thickness. I heated the slice in the oven. While I could taste the cheese, I really couldn't taste the pepperoni. Mostly it was the bread I tasted. The slice did weigh 3.8 oz. slightly more than the 3.1 oz specified net weight. But bread accounted for most of that I suspect. Also, a typical MRE main meal weighs 8-10 oz. So, this slice is not enough by itself to make a meal. And at $7-$8 a slice, in a stand-alone 3-pack, it would be better to buy a whole MRE meal for $12-$15 and get a full meal. I'm pretty sure that Bridgport, the maker of this pizza, also provides the pizza slices found in the new military MREs. I hope they are getting better slices.

I’ve been watching Steve1989 videos on YouTube and saw the pizza MRE one. I was curious so I ordered these. The Forkful podcast talks about how challenging this was for the US military to develop… field pizza! I just couldn’t resist ordering them. They are pretty pretty prettttttty good. No regrets. For a preserved pizza in a sack, it’s surprisingly spot on to what pizza tastes like when baked fresh and left to sit until it cools. 10/10

Not what I ordered. I got three of the individual servings not three entire packs like pictured. And they are way past expired, the Julian code is 4256 which according to the website means it was manufactured September 13th 2014. And they are only good for three years from the manufacturer date.

Whoever told you these are good is lying to you. That being said if the apocalypse has happened and it’s this or hard tack I’d say you’d be lucky to have this but if you have any other options including freeze dried camping food I would steer clear. These were made to last 100 years and I’m 100% sure these cheese on here is plastic. There’s nothing wrong with the ones the seller is selling other than they might be a little old. New or old these are awful
