    • Economical Stacking Desk Trays...
This shelving unit is not really designed/built to handle anything heavy; the plastic shelves are somewhat weak and flimsy to do so. It's probably best to stick to papers and files... Each shelf is quite wide, but the inside rear corners are rounded preventing any squared items from fitting better. Also, the shelves do not attach to each other, but have tiny tabs and grooves that that each individual shelf sits in; keeping the unit as a whole in a uniform stack. I purchased this particular unit to hold/organize 3 ring binders I use for research purposes. The shelves do work somewhat well for this purpose, but the rounded corners in back keep the binders from fitting better. I'm really pushing it with the weight of the binders though. Also, I found that the extra shelf width is not really usable for my application. Although this unit has its little issues, I can definitely say its much more economical than anything comparable in metal. Update: July 10, 2019 Avoid these shelves at all cost! Plastic so flimsy, the individual shelves break in the center towards the front under next to no use. I've had to super glue these shelves many times, then they break again in a different place. I'm having to find something that fits my needs, but won't break when it's barely touched. I had high hopes, but these stackable shelves did not perform! ... show more

There were just as advertised. Nothing fancy, but good, serviceable and inexpensive. Don't know how they will hold up over time but they work just fine now.
