Pretty easy to play

This was purchased as a gift for a film friend and we had some much fun playing this in group with other film and non film nerds. Surprisingly the nonfilm nerd won! We shared many giggles and a memorable night playing this. I hope they get more use out of it!

Great Party Fun with Only a Few Head-Scratching Movie Descriptions

Pros: Brass Monkey’s Poorly Explained Movies is a genuinely fun and creative party game. The concept of guessing films from hilariously terrible descriptions keeps everyone laughing, and it works well for groups ranging from 2–8 players. Many of the cards are clever and surprisingly on-the-nose, making for quick, satisfying “aha!” moments. Overall, it’s an entertaining, good-value game that’s easy to recommend. Cons: Some cards lean extremely obscure—so much so that even after seeing the correct answer, you may still question how the description connects to the movie. It’s not game-breaking, but it can slow the momentum a bit when players are stumped for too long. Final Thoughts: Despite a few overly obscure clues, it’s a great purchase and absolutely worth the money. A family-friendly edition—with cards tailored to kids’ and adults’ shared movie knowledge—would make an excellent addition to the lineup. ... show more

We are a game family always looking for board games, card games, made up games! This was perfect for hanging out and adding a game into the mix. We didn't really play teams - just someone read the card, whoever guessed correctly got the card and read the next. The person with the most cards in front of them wins. Age of my group playing - 22, 26, 55, 80. The 20somethings (who watch movies all the time) knew most of the answers, then 55s, then the 80s. There are a variety of movie genres & decades. It's not easy peasy, required some thought almost every time and we did need the hints about 50% of the time! Anywho - it was a hit. Perfect gift for a cinephile

One of my good friends is forever a student and lover of movies. Cinema is practically his love language. This was his bday gift, and when I tell you we all cackled like hyenas the entire time... A really great game. The hints make it extra amazing when the correct movie is revealed lol.
