The 7581a's have a much better sound (fuller bass, good mids and highs) throughout the frequency range and can be biased hotter as they are 35watt tubes vs the 6l6GC 30 watt tubes. They were supposed to be a matched pair and were within 0.5 mV of each other, which is very good. I set the bias at about 65% maximum power so they should last a long time.
