Most staplers are junk these days. These are as solid as you can get. And they easily handle lots of pages, unlike so many sad little plastic ones. Why buy a new stapler every few years, or suffer with one that starts falling apart or won’t staple more than a few sheets?! Ridiculous. These are a great value! ... show more

I bought this stapler because it's similar to one I have had for over 40 years. My old one is also a Bostitch and still works, but I didn't want to wait till it breaks or falls apart. I also bought the staples that were shown with this stapler (Executive Half-Strip Stapler). They work in my old one (Bostitch Model B8), but they are the wrong size and type for my new Bostitch model B400. It would staple once, then nothing. When I opened it, it looked like the staples were not staying in place. I finally found the right size staples by going to the Bostitch website, where the shipping is more than the cost of a box of 5000 staples, but oh, well. Be careful about buying staples on Amazon for this model. Other than that, I think it will be fine. The stapler is small, which works well for me, but sturdy. I'll find out when I finally have the right size staples. ... show more

Staplers are either wonderful or wall denters - that is what happens when you toss a failing one too hard and miss the trash. This stapler feels right and staples stuff - 20 sheets - no problem - 30 sheets not so much. 20 sheets is what it says and that is what it does. - well it also does 2 sheets and 3 sheets and 4 sheets. I have in fact used it for 8 sheets and 12 sheets as well. I have not tried 3 sheets to the wind but I imagine that would work. METAL - it really is made of metal - awesome! AND the staples are perfect - really nicely shaped flat when completed. the bendy parts are all bent right and it makes no weird noises... it does not take any batteries or require a charge or anything! ... show more

While these staplers do last a lifetime, I've had to buy several now because when my kids moved out and went to college, mine suddenly was no-where to be found! They knew what they liked and wanted them at college with them. I really like this stapler, a full stick of staples easily slides in and you actually get to use all of them! The end where you staple has a pivoting base plate where you can change the staples to close in or out as desired. It also opens up for stapling posters to a wall board for classroom displays. The rubber base is nice and keeps it securely in place when in use on the desk. There's a small red indicator on the side to quickly look and see if you need to add staples, though I find I open it up and look inside anyway. It'll easily handle a dozen standard weight pages which is about all I generally staple. 5 stars, this is a great stapler with the new models working just as well as my 20 year old one. My many years older version says Stanley-Bostitch in white lettering at the bottom front, other than that they continue to look about the same. ... show more

Ignore the comments that day there are "problems" . Some folks like to complain. This IS the best stapler you can imagine. Fits your hand. Light enough for reuse. Takes up less space than clunky heavier ones. I've had one for 30 years. Just got a craft room and couldn't bear to take my husband's from the office. So I got a new one. They hadn't changed it!
