  • Good Quality and Heavy Duty
This is my second set of Bosch 18v tools. The first set was 15 yr.s old and the batteries quit holding a charge. The tools still worked great. Since they quit selling the batteries, I upgraded to the newer tools with lithium batteries and wasn't disappointed in any way.

  • Very complete kit for the prosumer DIY-er or some trade users
This kit covers a lot of needs, serving pretty much any common advanced DIY need, and pro use for a number of trades like electricians and HVAC folk. The impact is smartly dual-use, taking either 1/2" impact sockets or a standard hex impact driver bits, meaning one less complete tool to carry. There is a bearing-style release for the impact driver bit that has a larger-than-usual easy to grab collar that I much appreciate. The hammer drill is powerful and sturdy with the typical variety of speed and clutch settings. The keyless chuck is knurled metal which is a bit less grippy than a rubber chuck, but fine if you're wearing gloves. Clips are reversible, installable on either side. The light is average, lightweight without battery, it folds up to save some space when storing. Gives enough light to explore a dark area, but won't help if you are doing finish work, and need to really see close details in an otherwise dark environment. Recip saw is very nice, heavy, which gives some good mass to make it easier to wield. Nice quick release blade, variable speed works as expected. Front shoe has sensible limits so doesn't end up getting in the way. I like the portability of the angle grinder, balance feels good with the OEM battery, though I imagine if you used a larger one, it would be quite out of balance. Handle is larger than usual, and works well with work gloves. Oscillating tool has a good speed range and good battery life. Blade release took me a minute to figure out, but is super simple and ideal. Balance is good, it goes adequately slow for use on things like drywall. Circ saw works great, it's small enough to store easily, and carry around, but will still cut 2x4/6/8/12 easily. Not enough blade to cut a steep angle on 2x stock, but should cover most situations. Batteries charge quickly and last decently well for home / non-continuous use. Carrying bags lack any organization, but are sturdy and fit all tools in the kit. Overall this is a very good kit well beyond entry level consumer gear. In terms of the ecosystem, there are not as many specialty tools available as some, if you're a woodworker or finish carp, you probably want a system that has a trim router. But For a decently priced well above average quality kit with a lot of versatility, this one definitely does the job well. ... show more

  • Price seems steep for what's included (and what's not)
It's a good set of tools for someone who needs all these items. I feel like the inclusion of drill bits would have greatly increased the value to the consumer and been a low-cost addition on behalf of Bosch. The light is pretty weak. I haven't gotten around to using all the tools yet but I do like the drill just wish it had bits. The bags are a good inclusion, but for an $800 7-tool set (the light is a tool I guess) I expected a little more. I think it's been on sale for a couple hundred bucks less, which would be more aligned with what it seems worth. ... show more

  • Great set
Okay, so let’s be real here, the price is high for this set, but let me say for starters that it’s too, name brand with years of quality work to show for it, & I can that this set is a deal especially since the other big name brands can run near double for about the same combination of tools. Now they are the smaller side, but I’m a hobby crafter with very little storage to speak of, so finding a set of smaller end powers tools is great! ... show more

  • Handyman's best friend.
The kit comes with the power tools you'll most likely need to take on any job. Bosch quality won't disappoint you. Each tool is very well balanced. I would have liked to see a few more accessories and bits with the kit but still a very good kit. Two heavyweight carrying bags make it very portable to jobsites. ... show more

  • A good set that is missing some small niceties and one inaccuracy to the kit
The media could not be loaded. I haven't been able to use these on any projects yet because my workshop is my backyard and it's still thawing out from winter. That being said, I've assembled the tool, tested their functionality and compared them to my other tools, so I've got some thoughts. My video will go more in-depth. I've found the reciprocating saw, circular saw, light and angle grinder fit best in the large bag. The remaining tools, which are the two drills the oscillating tool along with the batteries and charger all fit in the smaller bag (with the manuals). Overall the tools are good quality. They feel good in the hand, not cheap. They aren't too light that you question their quality and not too heavy either. The circular saw and the oscillating tool are the only tools in the set that come with 'accessories'. They each come with general purpose blades. Every other tool (the reciprocating saw, angle grinder and the two drills) come with nothing. It's true that driver bits a grinder bit and a saw blade are relatively cheap, so why am I complaining? Well, it's because they are relatively cheap and if someone is forking out a boat load of money a 'starter' blade or a generic driver bit would be a nice touch. I don't expect super high quality, but something to make it usable out of the box would be really nice. The angle grinder does include an extension arm which can be used from either side of the tool, but it is not the same piece as is shown in the picture. What I received is basically a bolt surrounded by plastic. The picture shows a rubberized grip (with the Bosch name on it) that looks like it will absorb some of the vibrations. Other things that are worth noting. Coming from a different tool vendor, I am slightly disappointed in the batteries themselves. This has nothing to do with their longevity, but everything to do with their 'feel' and the removal process. I've found them a little awkward to remove. The button in front needs to be depressed in order to remove the battery, but it doesn't slide off super smooth like my other drills. The batteries are also completely plastic as opposed to having a little rubber for grip on the bottom. These would be nice features to have. Overall I think this is a really nice set of tools and I'm itching to get outside to use them once the snow has melted. I think some small improvements would make this set even better. ... show more
