I’ve been debating whether or not to switch to the new battery system… Well the availability of this set made the decision easy for me. This is an absolute first-rate set. Good bags, a couple of 4 amp hour batteries, fantastic drill with a 1/2” chuck, 2 speed planetary transmission, and hammer drill function too! The impact has a 1/2” square external drive as well as a 1/4” hex internal drive. Neither of my other drivers have that and I’ve got a pile of broken 1/4” to 3/8” & 1/2” adapters to show for it. The sawzall (er, reciprocating saw) is first rate with insulated grips and a long stroke. Plenty of power. My old corded Milwaukee might need to be re-homed. This thing is a beast! - no starter blades included though - The circular saw won’t replace my 1990s era worm drive for quickly cutting 2X lumber but to have this handy with the nice general purpose carbide blade already on… well it cuts pretty well with a 16th kerf and adjusts quick and precisely… I can see using this a lot just because it’s so convenient. I hardly ever use an angle grinder. My hitachi is 4 years old and I’ve only ever used it for mower blades and knocking rust off some hobby welding projects. That said, it’s a nice grinder with an adjustable guard. No handle guard included in case you want to use it as a sander. There’s even a light. It sounds like a dumb throw-in, but it’s actually the first tool I used, to illuminate a basement room while I changed a ceiling fan. Lots of lumens, two brightness levels and super easy to set up. You just can’t go wrong. The only jiggle is that I would’ve liked to see an oscillating saw in place of the angle grinder just because I use those much more often.     • It’s Bosch, It’s Outstanding
I must admit, I was really excited to receive this six-piece power tool kit. And to be honest, most of that excitement was due to the fact that this is a Bosch kit. I mean, I have never owned anything made by Bosh that wasn’t way above average quality-wise. And that goes for this kit too. It’s, well, a truly outstanding/awesome kit. I am extremely happy with it. I haven’t had this kit very long yet, but I have spent a little bit of time with each tool, and they all perform great. They have all met or exceeded my high expectations. The quality of everything in this kit is readily apparent. I particularly like the reciprocating saw and the angle grinder. The reciprocating saw goes through 2X4s like a hot knife through butter. The angle grinder can cut a hardened steel padlock off a gate in less than 30 seconds. And the rest of the tools perform similarly. So, if you’re looking for a multi-piece power tool kit, I recommend this one highly. Bosh is a top-tier brand in my opinion, and the time I’ve spent with this six-piece power tool kit has only reinforced that belief. My primary usage of Bosch tools is their router bits. For the price I pay for them they work pretty well so I have a good impression of Bosch. I do know they have a great reputation for their routers too. However, I’ve never used any Bosch power tools. I primarily use DeWalt tools and have been very pleased. When I saw this Bosch set of tools I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out Bosch’s power tools. I am impressed by their build quality but I would expect nothing less from them. The kit comes with a good assortment of tools but like my review title says, I’m not sure who they are marketing this set of tools to. If marketing to a DIY homeowner, the inclusion of a reciprocating saw and a 4 1/2” grinder are tools very few DIYers will ever need. Including an oscillating sander and a jig saw would have been a much better choice if this kit was meant for a DIYer. On the other hand, it this kit is meant for a professional or more advanced DIYer, then I think Bosch is missing some features. My DeWalt drill has three power levels, the Bosch drill only two. My DeWalt driver has three power levels, the Bosch has one. Also, on the driver, my Dewalt drive has an auto lock for the bit. I just push the bit in and it locks automatically. For the Bosch, I have to pull out the release collar and then slide the bit in and release the collar to lock it. On the circular saw I found the safety button awkward to push in. My DeWalt has a tab the sticks out and you just push down and then pull the trigger. For the Bosch you must push the button in laterally and I found it made me adjust my grip awkwardly and just wasn’t a good process for starting the saw. Could I get used to it? Probably, but as a first time user it did not seem intuitive at all. As for the reciprocating saw and grinder, they both worked well. The reciprocating saw I have nothing to compare to because with all the woodworking and house projects I do and have done over the years I’ve never had a need for one. Reciprocating saws are more of a construction tool and not what normal people need. I also found it odd that no blades came with the reciprocating saw. I don’t know if that is normal but I felt for the amount of money this set of tools costs, a few different types of reciprocating blades being included would have been nice. I needed to purchase a set to play around with the tool. I do have had a need for a hand grinder and the Bosch grinder worked well for me. I didn’t find anything negative about it while using. It doesn’t come with any grinding, cutting, sanding, etc. wheels but luckily I already had some. So, overall, I think the tools are nice and quality made. I just don’t know who would buy them. I think they are too expensive for your typical DIYer and include tools most people will never use. The price is good for a more professional audience but I feel the tools are lacking features that Bosch’s competitors include in their tools. Of all the tools that came in this kit, the drill, driver, and circular saw are the ones that I use most. After using them for awhile, I realized I like the features and usability of their DeWalt counterparts much better. My DeWalt drill and driver are more powerful and offer more features. My DeWalt circular saw is just much easier to use. ... show more

When it comes to quality, performance and durability you cant do better then Bosch tools. I have been a long time owner and user of DeWalt and Makita power tools and have been generally happy with them. But once you get and use Bosch Power Tools, as soon as you pick them up you know your using the best power tool you have ever held in your hands. Yes, there is a price you pay for this level of quality and longevity but with it comes years of dependable reliability. Absolutely awsome. The batteries last longer than expected during heavy use. The power on everything is great. The angle grinder is more useful than I thought would ever use. I've used the other popular brands over the years and this Bosch kit is hands down my new go to for projects.
