Description

The Bosch Fast Spiral Rotary Masonry Drill Bit delivers fast drilling in masonry, using corded or cordless rotary drills. (This bit is for use in rotary drills only, not for hammer drills.) The bit features a double-flute design that provides fast drilling with optimized material removal. It can be used in high-speed mode. The carbide tip adds durability and minimizes wear. Designed for rotary drilling in masonry, brick and block, the bit starts clean, with a tip that is designed for reduced walking.

My retail space has perimeter walls made of brick and cinder block, which means that everything goes up with Toggler Alligators and 18-8 screws. However, to get the Alligators in, I have to drill, first. That's where the BOSCH BM5000 Fast Spiral Masonry Set (14-Piece) comes in. I use one bit for the Alligators, and a small one for the little plastic sleeve-type anchors. The BM5000 bits make quick work of the brick, with no walking, tip burn, or bit failures (yet). Bought this concrete bit to drill two holes for securing my removable wheelchair ramp to my porch. It did exactly what I thought it would, frilled the holes that I needed, but near the end of the second hole, I had to apply added pressure for the needed depth. Don’t expect it to do a larger number of holes, but in newer concrete it would serve your purpose for smaller jobs. Needed a masonry bit set to hang a heavy, full length mirror on a wall, which had our home’s original chimney behind it. To complicate matters, the wall was a mix of old plaster and drywall, layered over the original chimney. Bosch, however, does not disappoint; with little effort these masonry bits went right to the original brick work, and then some, allowing for a job well done.
