    • Great alternative to a traditional booster
I purchased this product for my 2 year-old daughter. She needed to get out of her high chair and was obsessed with sitting in regular chairs. She didn't want to have anything to do with a booster, but she is nowhere near tall enough for regular chairs. I didn't even know a product like this existed until I saw it on Amazon. It has truly been a perfect transition for us, however I can see how this may not be the right product for every child. Pros: - Gives the child autonomy to get up and down from chair as they please (this may be a con for some parents/children). There was a learning curve for my daughter to realize that she needs to have permission before leaving the table and not to "come and go" as she pleases. But, I also view this as a learning tool- in the real world she will need this skill and it's better to learn it now, at home, than later at school. She is now actually much better to take to restaurants because she is much better about sitting at the table longer. -This product fits on all different types of chairs. It has worked on every chair in my house so far. - There are two different height options so it can grow with the child. - There are non-skid pads on the bottom of the product that prevent the chair from moving and sliding unexpectedly. This may also be looked at as a con, because instead of the chair sliding back when my daughter pushes against the table, it will tip over. We have not had any problems with this and just set clear expectations for table behavior from the start. For the first few weeks, I was within arms reach when my daughter was sitting in the chair. Now that we've had it for months, I'm not worried. It is also very difficult for a child to move the chair around by themselves (which is a pro for me!) Cons: - I don't feel that this is great for travel (although, neither is a traditional booster). It is rather heavy & bulky and wouldn't fit into a purse, unless you had a rather large one. Installation of the product is rather easy, but not so easy that I would want to be crawling on a restaurant floor installing this thing. I'd rather just use the restaurants provided boosters. - This does not secure your child to the chair. If you have a spunky child who cannot sit still or is wobbly, then this may not be for them (yet). As I previously said, for us this was not an issue because I wanted my daughter to get used to sitting in a normal chair and we set clear expectations of her from the beginning. Every day is not perfect, and she still leaves the table unexpectedly at times, but she is doing great. Overall, I have really liked this product for my daughter. It has taught her how to sit at the table like a "big kid" and she really likes feeling "grown up". It may not be perfect for everyone, but it works great for us! ... show more

    • Great booster seat alternative!

It took about 30 seconds to attach it to the chair. It was super easy and we also used it on our big bar stools at the kitchen island. They worked perfectly and are very sturdy. Our grandson is thrilled to sit in a chair like a big boy.

Just as advertised- couldn’t find a booster seat to fit in the chairs that we have and came across this. easy to install and gives kids just the right boost. Rubber on the bottom protects my hardwood floors and keeps the chair in place. To make it a little easier for the kids to move I placed a felt pad on the bottom of booster and it’s perfect. Would highly recommend. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and has always stayed on the chair and very sturdy ... show more

    • great item but with some things to consider before you buy

overall, it's a great product but with some things to consider before you buy. i just bought this booster in green (love the color) a few weeks ago for our 23 month old son to use both locally when our tot goes to the grandparents and especially for our travels out of the country since i was unsure whether they'll have high chairs in some of the places we'll be visiting. we've also been getting a lot of attention and questions about this product during our travels as many people have never seen this before. pro's: -versatile fit. worked for every chair we've put it on quite well without any instability. -we liked the height options as it fitted different chair-to-table height ratio. the two height options are helpful as it can grow with the child, but we also noticed every chair-to-table height ratio was different for different restaurants we dined at so it was helpful to have the two options to choose from. -the size of the kaboost is smaller than a typical booster chair so it's easier to travel with. we threw it in our luggage and it fitted well along with the rest of our stuff. con's: -although it was great to give more autonomy for a tot that wants to sit independently with this booster, but it doesn't secure your child into the seat like some boosters do. however if you have a tot that can calmly stay in their chair or just an older child that still needs the extra boost, i can see how this booster would be a great fit. this booster only adds some extra height to a chair and doesn't do any securing or harnessing. my tot is quite adventurous and curious about his surrounding, so it was quite stressful eating without a harness to keep him in his seat as he kept wondering on and off his chair in this booster when we dined. we have a travel highchair ("my little seat travel high chair" on amazon) that may be a good fit to solve this issue. but then again, if you have a tot like mine that's fighting for his independence and wanting to explore every opportunity he can get his hands on, most booster options may not work and it's a matter of toughing this one season out. -although it's only 3.5 pounds, it is a bulky item and i felt every pound in those 3.5 pounds. it's pretty big and it'd be great if they can make them smaller and lighter (and do so without compromising any quality or stability) so it's easier to transport. the legs swing around loosely if you don't secure them which can make it more difficult to transport and requires a bag to make it easier to carry if you already got a handful. -the installation and removal process requires both your hands. i tried to step on a kaboost leg to help remove the kaboost a few times while holding onto my child and it just didn't come off as it squeezed onto the chair legs pretty tightly (which is a good thing also). we've used this throughout our travels where we were in/out of restaurants 2-3 times a day and with an active tot, it's a juggling act. ... show more
