Kitaro Takagi is the author of Bonsai: The Compete Step-by-Step Guide on How to Cultivate and Care for Beginners and he wrote a comprehensive and easy-to-follow book for people who just got their bonsai and are a bit lost. I definitely was and was constantly online trying to find the best option for me. Unfortunately, online is a massive world where opinions diverge and I felt unsure. I bought a Bonsai tree for my mom for her birthday and wanted to get her something to help her get started. This is a well-made beginner's guide for caring for Bonsai trees, but it IS a beginner's guide. I do wish it went into more depth and was maybe more comprehensive, but there was enough here to get my mom started. It's well-illustrated and a good place to start, but you might need to supplement the text with other ones. ... show more
