  • Bonsai: Its Art, Science, History and Philosophy by Deborah R. Koreshoff
Format: Paperback
Excellent book, easily the best book I have read on Bonsai & I can highly recommend it. If you want a full, well explained & illustrated account of all aspects of bonsai & want to read just one book then this in my opinion is the book. I like the fact that it covers the science as well as the art as when you understand why you do something it makes it easier to implement. If you are a beginner & have no other access to instruction you could learn the art of bonsai by just reading, understanding & implementing the information gleaned from this book. Written by somebody who has walked the walk & not just talked the talk & written in a practical & non academic way! ... show more

  • A must read for bonsai enthusiasts
Format: Paperback
This is one of the few bonsai books that explains why things are done. She does a fantastic job in discussing the different styles and discussing the horticulture involved in growing bonsai

  • Bonsai, from an Australian point of view
This is a really good book dealing with the history of the art, its current practices on both general and species-specific bases, and excellent photo series showing the development of a number of projects. Much better than average text, and some of the best illustrations yet. If there is a down-side to this book, it would be in remembering that the Australian seasons are reversed from those in the northern hemisphere, a minor point at most. ... show more

  • The book was highly recommended and I am very pleased to have it
Format: Paperback
The most comprehensive, touched all bases with touch of respect for father's influence. Very readable. My copy (used) was yellow markered though not presented as such. The photos of her trees don't seem to quite match the quality of trees we often see as examples. The book was highly recommended and I am very pleased to have it. ... show more

Format: Hardcover
Pride of place in my bonsai reference library. Wonderfully researched and presented. History for me, styles and method right through to my inexperienced attempts.

  • Great comprehensive work on the art of bonsai
Format: Paperback
One of the absolute best books written on the cultivation of bonsai. I have read many, few are as comprehensive as this. The detailed history, philosophy and methods inspire and feed the sustainability of a time tested wonderful hobby.
