This was a great buy! I regularly commute on my bike, and pretty much go everywhere with it. Last month I was hit and run by an SUV. My left pedal got hit, which in turn, stripped out my crank. I used these as an economical replacement, since I was forced to replace the crank as well. They are much better than I expected! The bearings have smooth action, and they are sturdy. My feet don’t slip. They are slightly heavier than my old composite pedals, but added a negligible amount of weight to my 24lb. bike. Today I managed to bang these bad boys on a curb going maybe 17-18 mph, and though they bent some, they held up well enough. All and all, you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck here. Definitely use grease and a plan on using a pedal wrench as the slot to tighten the pedal is enclosed. Happy biking, & remember to look both ways. 😉 Update: Sept 15th, 2020. These pedals still look and feel great. I've actually had 2 of the people I bike with regularly purchase these for their cruisers. There's no change in their performance despite rain, mud, extreme humidity, and every day abuse associated with being used on a commuter bike. These still get 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The first time I bought these pedals was way back in 2016. I installed them on my hybrid commuter bicycle to improve over stock pedals. After about 1000 miles of riding I had to replace one of the pedals because the platform was slipping off of the end of the axle it spins off of because the internal bearings fell apart. this happened in 2018 and I thought that maybe this was a fluke so I ordered another set. After installing the new pedal and riding for a few hundred more miles the opposite pedal failed in the same manner as the first. So I replaced that pedal with the spare pedal that I had from the set purchased in 2018. Now hear I sit in summer of 2023 with my 3rd pedal failure due to this same failure mode with ~2500 miles on my bike. IMO pedals should last more than ~1000 miles but that seems to be about how long it takes for the bearings to fail on these as I've killed 3 in about 2500 miles. What is noteworthy is that there is still grease inside of the pedals around the bearings so it isn't like I run them dry. I weigh about 190 lbs, average riding speed of about 15 mph, and I ride on flat, paved surfaces. I won't be ordering another set.

I am super happy with these pedals so far. Immediately after removing them from the packaging I noticed that they were very solid and higher quality then I thought they would be. The bearings were smooth and the pedals spun freely. Together both pedals weigh 395 grams which is a slightly heavier than my bikes stock pedals but the weight increase is well worth it considering the quality, durability and feel of these replacements. The pedals I replaced were different on each face so every time I put my foot on them I would have to spin them around to get to the “good” side. These pedals are the same on both sides which is what I was looking for. They also are plenty big and the studs gripped the running shoes that I ride in perfectly. After I installed the pedals I went on an hour long ride and my feet didn’t slip once and I found the pedals to be very comfortable. They feel so much better than the stock pedals that it is like riding a whole new bike. I wished I had bought them much sooner. I just installed them yesterday so I can’t speak to the longevity but based on their construction I imagine they should last a long time. I received a discount on these pedals in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.

Great pedals which offer superior grip for flat pedals. Whether you are just getting started or a seasoned rider nothing beats a nice set of pedals. At this price there are not many that can compare. Just watch a video to make sure you are installing and removing your pedals right and you should be good to go. Would be nice if they included a small packet of grease so they wouldn't seize up after mud and water gets in the threads. I just used some multipurpose grease I got at a local big box store for $4 to coat the threads and now have enough grease leftover I could probably grease every bike at my local trail and then some! Today on their first trip out I nailed multiple stumps due to being a newer rider and very unfamiliar with the the trails and they held up better than my stock pedals ever did. No bends, flexes or cracks yet! The limited surface area makes it so mud doesn't easily build up also. I expect them to hold up for the life of my bike, seeing as I only ride on the weekends for about 5 hours mostly on Intermediate trails. The bigger platform area covers a majority of the sole of your shoe so you feel really planted and stable. I ride in a pair of size US Men 10.5 Vans and the studs have no trouble finding grip on my sole. I would have liked to have seen one more stud up in the toe area of the pedal for even more grip, but they work awesome. Package did include 3 replacement studs for when they start to wear. So you can swap in some new studs and get back on the trail. Would not hesitate to buy again!
