I highly recommend this toothpaste since it is healthier for the oral microbiome, tastes great and gives an incredible clean. A good alternative to fluoride pastes. You know that thing at the end of the day where your teeth feel like they are wearing sweaters? After using this toothpaste for about 2 days, I noticed that at the end of the day that my teeth felt incredibly smooth and clean considering I had been eating all day. What is happening here? Amazing! I really enjoy the delicate flavor (lemon lavender and cherry blossom flavors) I brush morning and night and I like that there aren't irritants that make my lips burn and cause lip chapping. Two things to keep in mind: Don't rinse it out. I have forgotten and then have to reapply some paste. I'm sure eventually I will get used to it. It isn't particularly refreshing (these flavors I'm trying) so that is different than the usual pastes. I'm sure I will get used to that as well. I feel as though I need to brush my tongue in the morning though to get rid of morning mouth. I am using a Radius manual toothbrush along with this paste and think they are a good partner. I love that my Radius brush has a replaceable brush head to save on plastic waste. It's too early to speak to whitening but I hear the use of this type of toothpaste naturally whitens. I don't know. After living in Japan I was totally hooked on what we called the “magic” toothpaste. After returning to the US we were buying it on Amazon and we were fine with it. When I saw Boka, and realized it was the same active ingredient I knew I had to try it. As sad (and happy) as I am to say it, I abandoned the Japanese toothpaste and am thrilled I can get the same product here. Fantastic stuff, and YES IT WORKS. I had a crack in one of my back teeth and I was dreading getting it fixed. I remembered the Japanese dentist telling me if I brushed 3-4 times a day with their version of this toothpaste (called Apagard), within a few weeks the crack should fill (yes, I sort of rolled my eyes and said “ok sure”). Fast forward to a few months ago and I finally bit the bullet and went to the dentist. She comes in, looks at my tooth, looks up at the monitor on the X-ray, looks back down at my tooth, back up at the monitor and finally breathes a heavy, “…..huh…” Of course I said, “what? What’s wrong?” She sort of hesitated and said, “well there’s no crack here….I mean there is but it’s a fine hairline crack. Not like what’s on the Xray. That’s strange…..I don’t need to do anything with that. We can keep an eye on it.” She was totally stumped and so was the hygienist (who I’ve seen for years). This stuff works. Really. I know it sounds crazy but it does. Few things if you’re wanting the best results: brush and then don’t drink or eat anything for about 30 minutes. The primary ingredient uses saliva to do its work. Also, at least twice a day you need to brush, but it’s better if it’s 3. Mint is our favorite flavor but I’m eager to try the Cinnamint. Happy brushing! ... show more

I purchased 2 toothpastes in December and I use them together for 5 months. Prebiotic Silver and Boka Nanohydroxyapatite. I put one line of silver on the toothbrush and one line of boka on top of it and then I brush. I brush for 2 minutes tops. I am not a great brusher. I brush MAYBE and I mean MAYBE 4 times per week. I dont floss I dont do mouthwash. I dont brush after every meal. I dont go to the dentist every 6 months. nothing. People always compliment me on how bright my smile is. I got my first 2 cavities in 3 years along the gumline today. The dentist remarked that they were just surface cavities and had not penetrated or spread. He also commented on the lack of tartar anywhere on my teeth. I am not sure which toothpaste is responsible so I am leaving this review on both since I used both. If you use either of these consistently I am sure you will have marvelous teeth. Who needs flouride? ... show more

Rating: 3.75/5 I love the smell and more specifically, the FEEL of this toothpaste (it feels so good, because it's watery and smooth at the same time, and it really feels good to brush your teeth with it, as I don't like the feel of traditional/commercial brand toothpastes). It has a nice mild scent, but it smells good. However, I didn't rate it a 4 or higher due to its relatively ineffectiveness at desensitizing a few of my sensitive teeth. I've also tried Sensodyne, and I'd say they're about the same in terms of effectiveness, but I can't really say which one is better, although I'd prefer this one due to the science behind the Nano Hydrox. as well as the taste & feel. It is a bit expensive, in my opinion, especially because it didn't really work that well for me. I wish it was more effective. Some things I found more effective was drinking pure, strong black tea w/o sugar or milk for a few days (this completely cured my sensitivity, but it came back due to poor oral care). ... show more

I don’t have sensitive teeth, and I tried in Ela Mint this on a whim. Absolutely did not expect to love non-fluoride this much! I even thought it seemed a little gimmicky. I’ve always used the typical aggressively minty, fluoride-filled whitening toothpastes for years, and I don’t even think like my teeth are particularly white as a result; they even seem to have gotten more translucent over time (I’m 40). My theory is the enamel gets so worn away over time that the teeth get less opaque, so you actually need thicker enamel for the teeth to actually look more like a solid white. Anyway, one brush with this toothpaste and my teeth just looked and felt stronger and whiter already. And best of all, I actually look forward to brushing now!!! I’ve already ordered more tubes for my backstock. Sticking mostly to Ela Mint per other reviews, but I can’t resist trying the Cinnamint soon too. I know I will never go back to those traditional toothpastes that actually strip so much away. It’s like using harsh chemicals in the name of cleaning when it’s not always necessary. I’ll save my fluoride cleaning for my dentist appointments! TIP: don’t use much if any water with this paste, and don’t rinse with water after for optimal effects. (Personally the no-rinse style has been such a time saver!) ... show more
