This boat bag is a solid choice for a kayak or canoe, but I probably wouldn't recommend it for a large boat carrying lots of people. It doesn't have a huge capacity and only has one interior compartment, so you won't be able to separate trash and recyclables using it (but it would great for a shoreline litter cleanup!). The rubber flap top ensures that items don't accidentally fall out; this is a good feature for kayaks/canoes, as you can't hang the bag upright in those types of boats. You can then "release" the bottom of the bag on your return to easily empty it. The buckle on the strap makes it easy to hook it onto your kayak/canoe, so it doesn't fall out.

THis is the perfect size, great for our boat and makes it so nice to have a place for trash that's easy to empty and move around where needed. It's lightweight and when not being used compacts down great so it doesn't take up much space. Love this!!

Absolutely love this - as I don't have to always remember a trash bag, or worry about the trash bag flying away when there's nothing in it. We use this for our boat and easily snap it to the side rails on top and bottom so it's not flapping around everywhere which is extremely nice. It looks WAY better than a trash bag tied to the side of your boat that's for sure. Have used it many, many weekends already - and during the week I actually just leave it snapped to my fence so the rain washes it out and keeps it clean. The only thing I wish is that the top opening was bigger - if trying to use this for general trash bigger than cans/bottles - it's hard to fit. So normally we use it for recycle which works great (cans/bottles) - but would be better if opening at top was bigger for other things for a true "trash bag".
