If you have fixed boat seats you can put this in to add a swivel function. You'll have to get your own mounting hardward but it attaches to most seats easily enough. The swivel function is quite stiff, it may loosen up with time but you're going to have to sit in it and use your feet to swivel around. Reasonably priced, just a basic upgrade on fixed boat seats.

The Boat Seat Swivel Base is easy to install, well made and very sturdy. I had to get all of the hardware from the hardware store because nothing is included. The swivel fits almost any boat seat you connect to it. I'm hoping that the swivel is rustproof as I would like to have it for a couple years. The base locks in place if noone is sitting in the seat. I don't know if this is a good or a bad feature, but I'll let you know if it causes me a problem.

The overall size is as described in the product description. The second bullet in the product description is important to note. It says, in part, "The swivel hardware for chairs is designed to be firm without weight pressure...". What it really means is: the swivel action on this base is totally locked when there is no significant weight on it. The tolerances on this base are are really good. There is no slop anywhere. There is a card that comes with it stating "Important! Seat must be occupied for swivel to rotate." However, the swivel action remained very stiff, even with 190 pounds on it. I could not find a minimum weight requirement to get it to unlock listed anywhere. But it did unlock and swivel (though very stiffly) with the 190 pound load. This makes it a bit of a challenge to rotate it enough to install the bolts. But it is possible by standing on it and twisting. I expect with use, as it wears a bit, it will get easier to rotate. The description says the bolt hole distance can vary between 5 and 6 inches apart. I found the actual measurement bolt center-to-bolt center for 1/4" bolts is 4-15/16" to 5-3/4". The powder coating is well done, with no noted chipping. The center pivot bolt is substantial and well-seated. It appears to be galvanized steel. The washer under the center bolt appears to be cadmium plated. The bearing ring is lubricated plastic and is about 5-1/2" in diameter. This is a substantial feeling boat seat swivel. I am hoping the swivel action will soften a bit with time.
