I really like this. It's compact so it don't take up a lot of real estate in your manicure table and it's really easy to use and the cool part it uses quartz beads to sanitize your metal tools! I was expecting a chemical solution so opening the box and seeing like sand was a surprise! But I like it, I don't have one more liquid on my table to worry about spilling and you just fill this about 80% of it with quartz beads then turn it on and about 10 minutes later you put your metal tools points downward into the hot quartz beads and let it sit for 30 seconds and then take them out using a potholder or towel these will be hot! Let them sit in a sterile area to cool and then they're ready to use. I like how easy it is, I use and autoclave and they (1) scare me (2) they have to have water (3) they're big and bulky (4) you then need to clean your tools then put them in a sterilizing pouch then use the autoclave (5) too many steps. With this it's (after putting the quartz beads in it) 3 steps but for me it's 4 steps... Turn it on let it heat up while it's heating up I will scrub my tools in a disinfectant and dry them very well and then put my tools in it let them sit for 30 seconds then take them out let cool and use and it's the perfect size to hold my nail tools in to sanitize. I am used to working in a healthcare setting so for me I'm still about scrubbing metal tools in a disinfectant solution which is from years of using an autoclave. The only difference for me now is I don't use sterile pouches and autoclave and I like not having so many steps. Great product ... show more

I really love this little sterilizer! Perfect for sterilizing my nail supplies. I am not a professional but do occasionally do my friends and family’s nails so this is very helpful so that I don’t have to worry about the cleanliness of my tools!

The sterilizer did not reach 160° C (320° F), but it got close. Using a digital thermometer, I registered it at 146.2° C (287.2° F). I followed the instructions provided and I used it to sterilize 3 sets of tweezers and a pair of scissors. I’m happy with the results, but not the instructions. Via research, I discovered that 20-30 seconds was an insufficient amount of time to expect the tools to be sterilized. With that knowledge and awareness that the promised temp of 160° C will not be reached, I will adjust my usage accordingly. ... show more

Nothing fancy to look at but it's a must. It's not a huge one so it's perfect for at home if you do your own or family nails. You should always clean and sterilize any nail tool even if you just use it on your self, you never know what icky grimy germ hitched a ride on or under your nails. The tools get super hot so just turn it off and let it cool before retrieving or use gloves/tongs. This doesn't have a UV so if you want that just use a UV lamp afterwards. Heat sterilisation is not a new thing, but this device does it without steam, which is handy for use with metal tools. I find wiping things down with Isopropyl Alcohol followed by heat treatment makes for better germ elimination, especially when dealing with metal tools used for skincare. This is nowhere near the quality of product I was expecting. The whole plastic surround and base is just really cheap feeling. The lid is also just low quality plastic. The container itself is pretty small, so you can’t even fit that many items in it. When I tried this out, it does heat up, so it could possibly be useful to sterilize some manicure tools or other small tools. However, it’s just a heated container. There is no actual “cleaning” action going on. So, I suppose, if you scrubbed or wiped down your instruments, soaked them in alcohol, and then just wanted to go through this extra step of potential heat sterilization...I suppose that could be of some benefit, but it seems redundant to me. This is a product that I probably will never use. The quality just isn’t there, and neither is the container space adequate. I’ll give it three stars, because it does actually heat up. ... show more

I am disappointed with this Cleaning Box for Metal Tools. It doesn't do any cleaning. It is an overvalued plastic storage bowl. The material feels flimsy and poor quality. The packaging was horrible.
