This video capture did exactly what I was hoping it to do. I used it on my Mac, and did a Movie Recording with Quicktime. It shows up as USB Video on Quicktime video and audio. Worked exactly as I needed it to for both Roku and Firestick, and I have no doubt it would work perfectly for PS or Xbox as well.     • Not Working Well On My Linux System
And I can't tell if it's the device or my system. Been meaning to test it on SWMBO's Windoze laptop but haven't been able to sufficiently medicate myself to touch a Windoze system. I know: Do it for science.

    • Easy to setup and use with one potential extra hurdle
I used this to stream my Wii U to discord via OBS for my friends and it was very easy to setup. If you plan on doing the same, get a 1 in 2 out HDMI splitter as well because playing through OBS introduces slightly noticeable input lag. If your discord stream has no sound, go to the properties for the Video Capture Device in OBS and check "use custom audio device" and then choose the same mic you use for discord, you may have to go into discord's audio settings and change it from "default" to that microphone too. Other than this small hurdle I have no complaints, the stream is a good HD 30fps! ... show more

For anyone who is planning on getting a cheap capture card this is the one for you. I've used it for both PS3 and Nintendo Switch and have nearly finished an entire series of videos with it. I wouldn't have any doubts picking this one up given how long it has lasted me. Good for the price, and easy to set up on OBS. Colors are a tad bit off but it's nothing distracting.     • Works great for adding 2nd Canon camera
I needed a solution to use two Canon cameras (DSLR and mirrorless R5) at the same time. Canons Webcam Utility only utilizes one camera at time. OBS and Discord recognized the Camera just fine. It can be seen with the other DSLR camera connected via the Canon Webcam Utility running at the same time now. In OBS/Discord video settings, the capture card shows as USB Video next to Canon webcam utility showing as USB Webcam Utility. My Windows 10 PC worked with no alterations but if yours does not, you might have to change the Windows camera permissions (Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera). It only outputs up to 1080p, but that's all I need for live streaming. If I needed to record at 4k, I would have to get a more expensive solution like an Elgato, so it more than fits the price point. WHAT can i say? this is not a $200 product, so it's not going to have $200 features. it is a simple product, and ya know what? it works. it just works. flawlessly. without drivers. without problems. frame rates and resolutions, even video lag are best described as "great for general office work and server maintenance" but if your looking for something to stream 4k gaming on, this aint it holmes, you need to go buy an elgato or something to do that. this is a very simple product. i run a home security system on a raspberry pi, running headlessly, and it's come up twice where i couldn't ssh into it. so instead of lugging a monitor downstairs, or rebooting the system (maybe needlesly... how do u know if you dont know what problem it's having) i took this capture device and my laptop downstairs, plugged it in and off to the races i was. THE NEGATIVE: now, there is ONE GOTCHA with this product. the software. ... that is to say, there is none. at all. zero. the only way i've found to use this device (which works great btw) is to pump it into OBS as a video capture device. this is the only way i know how to use it. but, that being said, obs sees it without incident and is more than happy to use it. ... show more
