    • "GREY" Moonlight Forest (50 shades of Grey) 4.5 stars. Its a keeper.
Great quality. This paper has a nice iridescent sheen. Pending the time of day and how the light strikes, this wallpaper takes on different effects. Also, this is paper you don't have to "seam match", thus saving a lot of time and no wasted paper. THE COLOR: "Grey" can be an elusive color to peg. If you have worked with large color swatches, you know that grey can appear to lean a bit taupe (green tinge) or lean "icey" which will have a slight tinge of blue. The kicker is, you might not notice which way the color leans until you see it in stark contrast with other shades of grey. I wish I knew then what I know now.... Upon seeing this paper on an entire wall, the paper is an ICEY grey. Its almost a perfect grey but appears to lean towards the blue/icey side. Yes, this is the color I was aiming for. However, this shade of grey clashes with my other greys (which lean TAUPE-grey). I had to see these together to noice they clashed. If your home is taupe-grey, hopefully I just spared you some frustration. COLOR MATCHING: This Moonlight Forest grey will go best with cool-icey tones VS a warm earthy grey. I'm still going to keep this paper up... it is lovely and makes a nice statement wall. However, I had to change out some accent tiles and trim that butt against this wallpaper. Bigger project than I bargained for, but what project isn't? As for the "labor": I hung my own wallpaper with the help of YouTube videos. I had some trial and error because the YouTube pros make it look a littler easier than it is. My main gripe were the seams. With iridescent sheen you can see every little flaw -- especially in daylight. If the seams overlap even a teeny-teeny micron, it is noticeable. A seem roller helped (like $6 on Amazon). Another thing I wish I knew in advance:.... I wish someone told me to SAND THE WALL. I watched one YouTuber say NOT to sand (so I didn't, at first). If you are using a luxury iridescent paper like this, the sheen will amplify any texture on your wall. Not a good look if your wall is textured. Its worth it to sand off any major texture. The downside to sanding, is that you don't want to wallpaper on bare drywall. Why not? Because the wallpaper glue seeps into drywall and the "experts" say you will never get the wallpaper off without doing damage to the dry wall. Other things to purchase: -seam roller -wall sizing; otherwise known as wallpaper primer (especially if you plan to sand first) -lots of paste, it goes fast -smoothing tool to eliminate bubbles -razor(s) There are cheap kits that include seam rollers, smoother & various cutting razors. Like, $10 or $15 STAR REMOVED: There are no gridlines on this paper, so cutting straight lines is a challenge. Also, It is hard to find out what "lot number" you will get in the event you need to order more paper. This is not something I'd want to order from two different lots, so I might be stuck"in the future if I decide to add another wall in the same room.     • Stunning wallpaper with great quality. Verify all rolls you receive are the same lot.
I am updating the rating because the company contacted me and is willing to work with me. They are offering a discount on my future purchase and offering a guarantee of the same lot for all 10 rolls. They are on a different time zone (12 hours different), so it takes a day for email correspondence. However, they do respond, and offer solutions. As mentioned previously, the wallpaper itself has not been the issue, it is amazingly striking and good quality. Ordered 8 rolls of the "same" wallpaper. Yes, it's beautiful. However, once the wall paper was hung, we found out it came from 3 different lots. Therefore the coloring and patterns are all different. Grant it, I purchased a second order for 2 additional rolls (10 rolls total). But now I have to pay the wall paper hanger $450 for nothing as it was all torn down and I am back to square one. Plus I am out the cost of 10 roles of wallpaper. I would love to hear from the seller to see if this can be rectified. But it isn't obvious how to contact the seller, so I am writing this review. BUYER BEWARE - NOT ALL ROLLS ARE FROM SAME LOT. This may not seem like a big deal or even look different when you see the rolls in the box. But I promise you, when it is hung on the wall it is very noticeable. I'm sick about the money lost on this project. If you only need 1 roll, go for it, this is striking wallpaper and good quality. While it looks fine for the most part now that it is up, hanging this wallpaper was the most difficult I've done. It's not prepasted, which I knew when I bought it. Any creases and kinks that get in the paper before hanging, do not smooth out. The face of the paper has a rubbery feel so the brushes and wet cloths used to smooth paper onto the wall do not slide well. I would not buy this paper again. This was my first attempt at wallpaper. As with the other reviews I can confirm the blend is wonderful, meaning the lines are not apparent and I didn't worrying about lining up the panels. Which was the only reason this worked at all. I had way more trouble with corners than I ever want to experience again. There were rips and tears everywhere. The paper feels thick, but I could not get a clean cut around the crown molding to save my life. It looks amazing if one doesn't look close. ... show more
