Being new to using a glucose monitor, it took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to get the lancer into the pen where the needle would actually pop up. I was pushing the lancer down too far into the pen that when it was released, it didn’t clear the top of the pen for a prick. You basically just need to place it in the pen slightly pushing down so it doesn’t move but doesn’t need to be deeply seated into the pen. It has 5 settings for the depth of the lancer. I needed to do it for my teen and 2 didn’t break the skin. She felt the pinch but it didn’t bleed. I moved it up to 5 because I was already struggling to get her to sit still, which worked great. The strips and monitor are easy to use because it’s small and lightweight to hold in one hand without it being bulky. The monitor speaks so you know when it is actually calculating results (it took longer to capture the right amount of blood for one of the readings). Aside from getting the lancer seated right and the only other tedious part of putting cap back on before you throw it out, this works as hoped and is portable with its own little pouch that holds the needles, strip, pen and reader conveniently.

The media could not be loaded. Diabetes runs in my family, so it's good to monitor glucose levels. I haven't yet been diagnosed and prescribed equipment to test, so this kit is inexpensive, compact with its own carrying case, and has everything you need to get started. I did not even realize this device would provide voice prompts to set the date and time, and pressing the one front button instructs you to insert a test strip, verifies the strip is inserted so you can apply blood to the strip, and alerts when it has successfully detected the blood sample so you can concentrate on holding the unit while you test and not watching the screen. I would have been so much more confused without the voice prompts - once you understand what you're doing this tests quickly and is simple to use. Results are delivered rapidly within 5 seconds. The kit includes a lancing device and 100 disposable lancets. The lance allows you to set a stab depth from 1-5 and 2 for me was nearly painless causing a tiny stick that allowed a sufficient drop of blood to be squeezed out which then immediately stopped bleeding and closed up after a spray of alcohol and a bit of pressure, so no bandaids required. It also includes 100 test strips so you're all set up to test for a while. I also appreciate the lance device and the unit have sliding buttons to eject the used lancet and the blood strip directly into the trash without touching them when you're done.

It’s easy to set up, and the voice broadcast feature is a nice touch that makes it simple to use without constantly looking at the screen. The readings are quick and consistent, and I really appreciate that there’s no coding required — just insert a strip and go. The kit comes with everything you need — plenty of strips and lancets, plus a sturdy carrying case that keeps it all organized. I’ve found it especially handy for tracking my blood sugar levels while doing intermittent fasting, since it helps me understand how my body responds throughout the day. Nice blood glucose monitoring system. It comes with a large supply of lancets and test strips. It gives voice instruction to prompt and step by step you through the process. Testing my blood glucose is new to me and I’m grateful for those voice prompts. It keeps a 1,000 test memory and will tell you a seven day average. I like that you can set meal alarms. It comes with a small bag to keep your system in but ai may get a larger bag to hold all of the supplies in to get it all together.
