My 8 yr old son loves building Legos, and playing with rc cars, so I purchased this set to combine two of his favorites in one. He is pretty good at building medium level Lego sets, so I figured he would be pretty good at this. At first when we had only opened the set, we discovered that the set had quite a few pieces, which was fairly overwhelming to even me. Naturally I had concerns, but the box said age 4+. However, he did get frustrated and had to stop periodically to take breaks, I even had to help with some of the assembly. Overall, it’s really neat, a well thought through design, and and it seems to be a well made, quality product. Having said that, my main dislike is that the product is advertised for 4+ and my 8 yr old still needed help. I think that recommended age needs to be changed and if purchasing for a younger child consider that it is the type of product that you’ll need to assist them with. Still though, pretty neat item, that would be great as a Christmas present or birthday present!

I have ordered one other RC building block set and it was the same brand as this one. Both sets are easy enough to build. The block size is regular Lego size but the blocks just don't stay together enough to take much of a beating. The RC part is just not quite as fun as it looks. We spent most of our time putting the random parts back together that fall off when you turn or when you hit the slightest bump. I am sure this could be a quite fun set but it just needs a little work to reliably stay together. The car can be made in 5 different configurations and all the blocks needed were included. The instructions are easy to follow. Unfortunately snap together blocks are not the most reliable building material when it comes to moving things. I gave this 4 Stars and really that is more than generous. It just didn't work and stay together like we were expecting.
