Great shoes and great quality. However, they do run small. I normally wear a 7.5. I originally ordered a 7.5 and they were way too tight and short. It felt like they were digging into my heels and my toes were tight up to the front. I returned them hassle-free. I ordered an 8.5 and they fit nicely. The leather is soft, yet snug. I've only worn them 2x but I'm told the leather will loosen up more, which will be fine. I've worn them with a lightweight footie sock. ... show more

These run SO, SO small. Order at least 1.5-2 sizes up. Also, Bloch’s sizing is incredibly inconsistent among their own shoe models. So if you wear a certain size in their ballet slippers, order 1.5-2 sizes up for these. Or just go with a company that has reasonably consistent sizing. So disappointed. ... show more

    • Good shoes but don't trust Amazon's description!

I ended up ordering three pairs of these tap shoes so I could get the sizing right to fit my size 9 street shoe feet. All three pairs I ordered were supposed to be brand-new, sold and shipped from Amazon. The first pair (Bloch size 10) came as described, in the manufacturer packaging, brand-new. Unfortunately, they were too small, even with the thin socks I also ordered. So I ordered two more pairs the next day. The second pair (Bloch size 11) arrived in the manufacturer box, inside a sturdy Amazon paper bag. They were already laced, and missing some of the packaging, as if they had been tried on and returned. Other than that, they're in brand-new condition. This pair fit well and they have a great sound. This is likely the pair I'll keep. The third pair (Bloch size 10.5) took longer to arrive, and its packaging was very disappointing. No manufacturer box or paper. The shoes were NOT brand-new. They were laced, the leather was worn, the taps were scuffed, and the logo was completely worn off from the heel beds! These were not purchased through Amazon Marketplace! I will be returning these for sure! Don't trust Amazon's suggestion for sizing. My street shoe size is 9, and the manufacturer (Bloch) suggests sizing UP because these run very small. HOWEVER, Amazon's suggestion, based on the information on my profile (women's size 9), was to get size 8.5. That makes no sense unless they thought I was ordering men's shoes. These were clearly marked as women's. My suggestion to anyone considering buying these is to measure your feet (get instructions from Claude/ChatGPT) and then use Bloch's official sizing guide on their website. Start with a full size above your street shoe size, and then go up from there. I ordered three sizes so I could find the one that fit me best. I will return the two that don't fit. Another problem with Amazon is that their product description says it's for tweens and youth. These will work for adult women's street shoe sizes up to size 10. For best fit and comfort, wear thin socks with a high cotton content. And the pairs I ordered DO come with laces! As for the shoes themselves, they look great and have a fantastic sound. I'm looking forward to my very beginning level, Bucket List satisfying (I'm 54) tap dancing class now that I have decent shoes! ... show more

This is my daughter's second pair. The first pair lasted 3 years before the hard support on the underside split. That is amazing quality! Bloch has its reputation for a reason. She didn't even know the bottom had split until she tried to do a toe stand and couldn't. Will continue to buy as long as my dancers keep on dancing! ... show more

My daughter had been taking tap for 5 years. She's always worn Capezio bc that's what her studio sells. When she started her teen class this fall, she wanted a 'better' tap shoe and BLOCH was at the top. It took 4 pair of different sizes/styles because we wanted to make sure of the fit. She loves them! Every dance shoe and maker is different. You should always look for the size guide to every pair of shoes your dancer needs( I have learned this the hard way!) Sizing help for tap shoes only--- So, she wears a 7.5M women. BLOCH recommends 1/2 size up from street. Well we know from experience they run smaller than that! The tap shoe should fit snug with the tips of the toes right up to the edge. Also The shoes should feel snug when your toes are flat. We decided on a Women's Size 9. This would also vary if she wanted to wear light socks, tights etc. I also left a tiny bit of room for stretch and growth as these are leather. I hope this helps other dance moms who want to find the right fit for your daughter. Her feet are important and you don't want to create foot problems in the future if she loves dance as much as my daughter does!
