Super disappointed...I love Bloch as I have used them in the past for myself. The quality of their taps are outstanding, however, these run SUPER SMALL and VERY NARROW. my daughter wears a 4 street shoe and I ordered the 5. They are so tiny and so narrow I cannot get her foot in them. I found a pair of cheap Leo's at the Childrens consignment in a size 5 and I would say Leo's size 5 is 2 sizes larger than the bloch size 5. Sadly I have to return them and I will not be reordering mainly bc if I order up, they will probably still be narrow. I even ordered the 5m not narrow. I never had a problem with shoes being too narrow for her before. Such a b⁰m.pummer. We will be tapping in low quality shoes now.😔 (see photos. Box is level with black Leos) .d43zr51 ... show more

I followed the size info from other reviewers and it worked! My almost-4-year-old daughter starts our family's first ever dance class in a week and I ordered without ever trying anything on her. She just went up a street shoe size to 9 (Carter's/OshKosh) but still fits in her size 8.5 New Balance sneakers so I got the Bloch Tyette size 10 tap shoes. I got them in WIDE since her sneakers are wide width, although she fits in standard width shoes for the most part (except all stars). The WIDE tap shoes were a must for her so glad I got them wide to be on the safe side. The overall size fits just a tad big, just enough to be perfect to grow into through the rest of the dance season, but fit fine now, too. They work well with and without socks. I'll go ahead and put her in the "no-show" socks as recommended by another reviewer to keep from rubbing her ballet tights that she'll be wearing for her ballet/tap class. These taps run so incredibly small and narrow! I bought a size 7M for my 3 year old daughter. At the time, she still fit in her size 6.5 street shoes and could wear a size 7 with thick socks. So, unwittingly following the “true to size” statement in the product description (and multiple responses in the Q&A) I purchased the size 7M, expecting her to have room to grow. I can’t even get her foot in the shoe! I checked the Bloch size chart, and it in fact shows that my daughter would need an 8.5, which does not correspond with street shoe sizes at all! I’m sure these a great taps if fitted correctly. The ribbon and snap closure is rather clever, and the quality is there. Just double check the actual measurements before buying! Tried 3 different sizes (including a wide size), and none fit my daughters foot well. We were going a size up and wider to try to get it comfortable, but once her toes were comfy, her heel was slipping a lot. The toe box on these is just weirdly angled. Then we tried Capezio and the toe box is round and her normal/expected size fit great. I thought I was going to save $10 with choosing these instead of Capezio, but it was a mistake that ended up costing way more than $10 of my time in returns. ... show more

Go 1-1.5 sizes up. I bought for both of my girls. I went 1.5 sizes up for both. I love that there’s a little heel transition cushion at the back of the shoe and that the eslastic part snaps. Both of them have a comfortable room to grow. One has about a half size worth, but the other seems to have a lot more room...I think her foot is a little more narrow, and we got a M width since that’s what she’s always worn, but maybe we should have purchased the narrow ones. So take that into consideration. If she is wearing socks, i think it will be fine. ... show more

After reading reviews that dance shoes generally run large, I decided to order my daughter size 10 (she’s between an 8 and 9 in street shoes right now). These have some space but she can wear them comfortably, so I’m hoping they’ll last her through the year. Quality seems good. I like that they have an elastic band and snap closure, so she can take them on and off herself. Dance class hasn’t started but she’s busy wearing them around the house in the meantime! ... show more

I purchased these shoes for my daughter who is 4 and in her second year of tap. They seemed a little nicer than the shoes at Payless and are about the same price. For reference, the last time measured my daughter's feet, one was a size 9 and the other was a 10. I ordered a size 11, so they would last at least a year. They are a little big, as you would expect, but she is able to dance in them and hasn't had any blisters or had them fall off, etc. What I love about these shoes is that there is an elastic strap underneath the bow that snaps closed, so my daughter can take them on and off by herself. The bow is just decorative. I actually took it off because it was slowing down the change from ballet to tap shoes during class and will just put it back for the recital, etc. This is a nice shoe at a good price.
