This cleaner works well and helps cut down on dust bunnies being distributed in room when the ceiling fan is cleaned. Its easier to use than the "dust-free pillowcase method" and safer than the method I was using which is the old fashioned ladder, cleaner, and multiple paper towel method. With that method there seemed to always be some swaying at some point when the fan would start moving around as I was cleaning and I'd be on a ladder moving with it. Not a smart move on my part. It's nice to be able to stand flat on the floor, wiggle the cleaner head on the blade and gently wiggle it back off - taking the dust with it. I did find it necessary to do it more than once on some blades to get the level of dust free that I wanted. Overall, this is a useful tool and better than most methods available.

My ceiling fans in the bedroom and kitchen are on all the time. Even on a low speed they distribute the heat or a/c throughout the rooms. In the kitchen in particular, the fan blades were filthy! Combination of cooking and general dust collected on the blades to make them really awful. When the blades are spinning, it's less noticeable, but once the stop? Horrors! The bedroom fan blades were mostly dusty, rather than greasy AND dusty. Still, dreadful when they stopped. In the past I've had to get the stepladder out and dust, or stand below and use the dust mop or long-handled duster. But the blades would move out of the way of the cleaning head. I tried all sorts of ways to stand on the ground and clean the blades - not all were successful. I was able to spritz multi-surface cleaner on the pads of this product and slide the head of the "mop" over the end of the blade. If the fan blades moved a bit, it wasn't a problem because the mop head completely surrounded the blade. Magic! I gave a couple of back and forth passes with the mop head and the dust and dirt was trapped in the fibers. Then I went back over the body of the fan with the long-handled duster. It's not as complete a clean as if I climbed the ladder and went at the fan with a rag and sudsy water, but it was MORE than satisfactory. Clean up was very simple. I removed the microfiber pads, gave them a shake over the trash can to remove the loose dust, and then tossed the pads into the laundry. They washed clean and ready for another day.

The reason I gave it a 4 for ease of use is because since it's so tight to avoid the dust from falling out and spreading, that you have to struggle a little to slide it on the blades. I would have given it a 4.5 stars, but that's not available. Is the struggle worth the results you get, ABSOLUTELY!

I saw this in one of those “30 items you need now” videos online… and it made me think of our super dusty ceiling fans and how I love to neglect them. I wasn’t really expecting this to work as well as it did since it seems like “as seen on tv” junk but it worked extremely well! The first fan was so dusty just a single pass probably filled the thing up, and it did drop one small clump but the rest was fully contained. I took it to the trash can, opened it up and beat it a little before tackling the other blades. I have two ceiling fans that get suuuuper dusty for some reason so it’s overworking this thing in its initial use. Once I tackle all the ceiling fans I’ll be able to hit them once a month or so with this and it probably won’t need to be cleaned out after each blade lol. I usually don’t buy task specific cleaning tools (gotta store it somewhere) but this is fantastic for ceiling fans and I’m glad I bought it. Def recommend.

I read the reviews and noticed some mentioned that it was not as easy to use as one might hope. They were so right, but I overlooked them and focused on the positive side that you could clean the fan blades without dust getting everywhere. Lovely thought, but I'm not sure how much I'll be using this. I may go back to the fan blade cleaner I got at a hardware store in the past. We don't have oversized blades (they are five and a half inches at their widest), but this was a struggle to get the blades into this cleaner and I ended up wiggling it so much that the top actually unscrewed from the pole and ended up falling onto my head, knocking my glasses off - no damage, but not an ideal thing if it had hit a breakable or one of our cats. I was also a bit concerned I was going to pull the fan off of the ceiling I was having to work it so much. On the plus side, it did clean the blades (I had sprayed a cleaner on the pads, which I think is a necessity), but will I continue using it for our fans? No, probably not. Will go back to the hardware store purchase, which didn't contain the dust as well, but really got the job done with minimal hassle or effort. I will give this a go for baseboards, etc. Also, if your fans are higher, which they are in several of our rooms, it is essential that you get the longer extension pole. The standard one, which is what I got, is very short.

Looking up at my ceiling fan and dreading hauling in the huge ladder from the garage into the living room and trying to balance and clean at the same time - ugh. Read the reviews and purchased this product. It worked like a charm. It was not only easy to use but did a great job cleaning my fan. I also used it to clean above doors and over the door jams as well as those irritating cobwebs that pop up on ceilings and corners where ceilings meet the walls. It also did a great job cleaning furnace registers high up by the ceilings that seem to get filled with dust overnight. Worked on baseboards as well. Well worth purchasing this product.

Had 2 ceiling fans that were pretty dirty. I was able to clean them quickly and efficiently with this product. Product seemed a little flimsy when using, but that could have been because it was my first time figuring out how to use it. As for my ceiling fans - they are clean and it took me less than 5 minutes!
