To begin fairly, this phone is not terrible in any sort of sense. I just can't help but be critical of the phone as I want to let people know what they're getting into before buying it. In terms of positives, there are quite a few, but they're also negatives to be wary of. Not enough to say this phone is garbage but it could be something to think about before buying. Firstly, the phone is very light and, outside of charging it, it resists overheating pretty well, even in near triple digit weather, though I definitely never recommend leaving this out in direct sunlight for too long on hot days. There are two slots for SIM cards, making this ideal for anyone who has the need for two different cards to speak to different contacts internationally without having to purchase expensive apps or another phone to keep in touch with their loved ones. The memory is better than my older phone which was limited at 4gbs within my previous Samsung without any sort of expansion possible like the Blackview. This phone also has 4gbs of RAM with the possibility of extending it with 3gbs of additional virtual memory. I have noted that this has been substantially better on this Blackview phone. I'm able to run a number of apps and not lose my place when switching back and forth as I did on my older phone which was the main reasoning into looking into getting another phone. I can fill in documents or swipe through several apps at once and feel at ease knowing that my page will not reload or refresh before I get back. The color of the phone is accurate to the description, a very sleek, minimalist gradient between an icy blue to a more oceanic blue color. Charging is simple enough and can be used with any sort of Type-c charger available and the battery itself is commendable, lasting me nearly all day but only if set to battery saver mode, so do be sure to select that to increase the longevity of your battery life. The camera works well and produces high quality images and video without much tweaking involved. Initial setup is simple and took barely any time to get up and running. In terms of the launcher that is default on the phone, there are some features that are locked that really bugged me and prompted me to look for a different launcher. One specifically was the on-screen clock which was unmovable because of a certain setting within the pre-built features. Also, moving apps around the phone or placing them along the home screen was difficult as there were massive borders around any icons and I could not set my phone up as I could on my previous phone to help me streamline the process of moving to a new phone. I would look into getting a different launcher and setting that up. Currently I'm using Nova and it has been great so far, even as a free version of the app. Running apps overall is okay, there are a few hitches here and there, though I can't help but compare this to my older phone so this may not bother you as much. For example, when you select the active apps button to display currently running apps on your device you will be presented with the standard array of screens you can choose from. You can lock your current apps, but at the same time you can flick them away with your finger, thus negating the concept of locking the app in the first place. The only way I've seen to get around this is to lock the apps and then click the "clear all" button which will remove all apps that are not locked. A little inconsistent to me, but not a huge deal in the long run. There's also this odd issue where I cannot choose a personal keyboard and enable Google voice typing at the same time without them interfering with each other. To be clear, I DO want to use voice typing occasionally, like when writing reviews like this that are more long-winded and I don't want to type it all out on my phone. The issue is that when I select voice typing and my personal keyboard, the voice option comes up every time as it is set to automatic, which is irritating to me as I have to click once on where I want to type, have the screen pop up to enable voice recording, click OUT of that screen, then click BACK to the spot I want to type again. Very frustrating and I've yet to find a way around it truly that has benefited me without disabling my personal keyboard preference, which defeats the purpose of downloading it in the first place. The audio is not any better than my previous phone and I cannot find any other distinct features that stand out in terms of setup or usage of the phone itself. I was able to download almost all of my apps from my previous phone and any issues I had quickly got nipped in the bud by installing the Nova launcher so if you're having any odd issues with the phone I suggest looking into that app before proceeding to save yourself a LOT of headache. ... show more

I would give this 4.25 stars but seeing as I can't, 4 stars is more accurate than 5 stars. It's definitely a good phone for the money, and I was able to easily hook it up to the Connect by T-Mobile program. It does what it's supposed to do. You can make calls, surf the internet, download and use apps, etc.. While I'm sure it doesn't line up in performance with the higher end offerings, it works for me. ... show more

I've been using the Blackview A53 for a few weeks now, and I'm really impressed with it so far. It's a great budget phone that offers a lot of value for the price and nothing to conplain about. I also really love the color options. Here are some of the other things that I like about the A53. So the battery life is amazing,! The A53 has a 5080mAh battery, which is one of the largest batteries I've seen in a smartphone. I can easily get two days of use out of the phone on a single charge. The performance has been good.The A53 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, which is a mid-range processor. It's not the fastest processor on the market, but it's more than powerful enough for everyday tasks like browsing the web, checking email, and using social media. The camera is good. The A53 has a 12MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The camera takes good photos in good lighting conditions. In low light, the photos are a bit grainy, but they're still usable. The phone seems well-built. It has a 6.5 in screen yet remains very lightweight . The phone comes with a clear protective case as well as screen protector already installed on the phone. It's also water-resistant, which is a nice bonus. Overall, I have been really impressed with the Blackview A53. It's a great budget phone that offers a lot of value for the price. I would for sure recommend this phone compared to others in the same price range . ... show more
