I have a 36mm deck and the tape is 38mm so i just barely made the cut. The file it comes with is the best method of cutting it, I've tried a metal file and it didn't give me the results I wanted. At first glance the tape wasn't as grippy as I wanted it to be but after some time I've learned the best way to prep it is with a wet wipe and dab it along the tape. That's the fastest result, if you fear you'll ruin the tape then just slide your fingers up and down with a little bit of pressure and in time it will break in. It's cheap, the grip job when applying it to the deck is absolutely clean. Cleanest I've ever seen, so far the foam hasn't peeled yet, that's one of the main things I'm paying attention to. As of the grip, straight out of the package it's not as grippy. After a few days of wearing it in, it feels a bit better but not as grippy as my previous tapes. Still a great quality grip tape, gets the job done. On a side note, I didn't have a prime membership to get free shipping. The grip tape really works well with my fingerboard. I really feel an improvement in doing tricks with the foam grip tape. It's easy to attach to my fingerboard and is really easy to trim off the extra. Only complaint is that I feel like there is way too little foam grip tape for the price, but it doesn't really matter since I will only use one fingerboard and the foam grip tape will last a really long time.
