These are the best sandals I own and I will repurchase them once mine are all worn out. I was hesitant at first in buying these because, let's be honest, they are a bit pricey BUT I am so glad I purchased them.... I don't know how I went so long without knowing about Birkenstocks. These sandals have great arch support and the soft footbed makes it that much more comfortable. I have the brown leather straps and it fits great, you can adjust the straps so if you have wider feet like me, you can simply just loosen the straps a bit. I seriously walk in these all day long and they are super comfortable. They have great grip soles so you wont be slipping around anywhere. I have heard from my friends who have these, that they have to break into them but I didn't really have to break them in at all. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT SIZE. The first time I ordered these, I read the other reviews and they all said to size one or two sizes down and so I did but I think most people just didn't read the conversions right.... When you look at the sizing info, make sure you are looking at the women's sizing chart! I ordered what my exact shoe size conversion was the second time and the sandals fit great. ... show more

I have been dying for a pair and I finally got them and I am not disappointed. They are so worth the money the leather is amazing (both color and quality wise) the buckles are gorgeous and the shoes are as comfortable as could be! The only issue I have is I usually wear a size 5.5/6 street shoe and the Birkenstock website said I need a size 37 but they were HUGE so I got a size 36 and they fit ok but I could fit a 35 (which are super back ordered and hard to come by especially in the Amalfi brown leather that I got) so I'm keeping the slightly roomy 36. ***Disclaimer Birkenstocks actually reccomend you have space in the front and back of the shoe for when you walk (so the shoe could curve and contour your natural stride) and I also have short toes so maybe that's why they're extra roomy πŸ˜‚ ... show more

I work in construction in Southern California and I can be in my boots for 12 hours easliy. That's not good for my feet. I almost always return back to the office at the end of the day for paper work and the next day's assignment. I usually wear jeans but can end up in shorts by the end of the day. I wanted a sandal that could go with either and was durable but not a flip flop because of the office setting. I had originally went to the mall, that is where I found out my shoe size, but no place had my size in stock. The pair I received in the mail fit great, look great and wear great! After wearing them for about a week, I wiped them clean and applied a real thin layer of mink oil for protection. I recommend buying these sandals. I bought the Brown Amalfi Leather. ... show more

this is my second pair of Birkenstocks - the first was the regular footbed i guess, these have the soft footbed. Definitely a little extra cushion, which feels great. These shoes are built to last a long time and once you break them in for a couple of weeks, they are certainly very comfortable. My only minor gripe about Birkenstocks is that because the footbed has a lip around the edge, they tend to collect dirt or small stones under your foot if you are walking in unpaved areas. ... show more

I wore these a couple of times just around the house and indoors and they were fine. However when I wore them for a longer period of time where I had to walk a little over a mile, the buckle on the right sandal cut into the top of my foot. It got pretty bad where I had a Band-Aid on the foot for a few days before it healed. Not sure what to do with the sandals at this point. Other than this I did like them. I have heard of lots of counterfeits of Birkenstock sandals. I certainly hope this isn’t one of them. ... show more

When I first saw Birks 50+ years ago, I swore to never wear them. But 30 odd years ago I developed plantar fasciitis from wearing shoes with too much flexibility. A friend recommended inserts or Birks. I got almost immediate relief. I just wore out a pair and ordered these as a replacement, but had to return them as the 11-11.5 Amazon lists is incorrect according to any Birkenstock size comparison chart. So this may be an error on the part of Amazon. This should be size 44 EUR. So if you need the correct EUR size, call the supplier, Backcountry, and they are very helpful in getting you the right size. I spoke with customer rep, Justin, and he was very helpful. ... show more

I have neuropathy issues and thought the Birkenstocks would help with my feet overall. I am having to slowly break them in, first time I've ever had to, but then, my feet are different now. The main reason I love these shoes so much is I have a high arch and they have such great arch support. I'm sure I will be very happy with them. I will also add that years ago during a 5 year rheumatoid flare-up, these were the only shoes I could wear. So if you have either of these issues I'm thinking you might look into Birkenstock.
