These sandals are my all-time favorites! They are plastic which took a little bit to get used to the feeling but soon I realized that they were amazing. They are waterproof so they can be washed in the sink or hosed off, they are so light that you can hold both with one finger for beach walking, they fit so well that they like extensions to your feet… don’t fall off. Very comfy too. I don’t want any other sandals. I highly recommend them!

Need I say more, I always love Burks but I really put this set to the test when they were 1 of two shoes on my UK trip. I liked that they were more plastic so didn't have to worry about water/rain. the top part did start to stretch a little so I need buckle one more notch. but comfy and very grippy, even after a lot of wear, they still grip really well. Only downside is they have a little button at the top toe part of the shoe and one of mine popped off fairly quickly. Still would highly recommend.

2022 update: I just bought a second pair of these and am REALLY disappointed--the quality has gone way down. I'm even wondering if they're fakes? No longer anywhere near as well made. No where near as comfortable or supportive. The ridge under the toes is almost non-existent, there's less arch support, and the shoes seem thinner and are less 'cushy' to walk in. There are visible (messy) manufacturing seams in the plastic. I can't recommend them any more :( My original review (2019) Despite having both grown up in Northern California, and having a German grandmother, I am NOT, and never have been, a Birkenstocks girl. I'm not even a sandals, or much of a flip-flop girl (except, you know, around an actual pool, or on the beach). But I've developed some severe foot and knee problems over the past few years, including severe arthritis and a loss of most of the cartilage in my knee, foot and ankle joints. I've tried/been trying all the usual, including drugs, PT, and surgery, but it's increasingly difficult to walk - and I need to! I'm planning a trip this summer which will include lots of walking. Several people and travel websites recommended these shoes. I resisted as long as I could (and have been trying all sorts of others) until, late one night, in a sleepless fit of desperation, I ordered them. When they arrived (it didn't take long), I was surprised (I'd completely forgotten). I took one look at them, pushed the box to the side, and rolled my eyes every time I walked by. (I don't care what anyone else thinks, by no stretch of my imagination can these be considered even vaguely attractive.) I finally, finally, broke down and tried them on - and was AMAZED. They are so, SO, comfortable! I could walk - with no pain! But I only walked around in them (in the house) for a few minutes before I was overcome by the dorky un-attractiveness of them. (Every time I looked down, I cringed.) Back in the box they went. But my feet (and my knees, and my legs) remembered... and eventually, they came out of the box for another try. Again. And again. And again. Until I caved and realized that there was NO WAY that I was returning these because they are SO D-MN COMFORTABLE! The footbed is supportive, with a raised arched support, a depressed heel 'cup' that keeps my foot aligned and my heel from sliding around, and there's a ridge running just under the base of my toes that provides a resting place, support, and security--my toes never have to make an effort to 'hang on.' The raised edge all around the shoe means my foot stays in place - no sliding from side to side, like in most sandals or flip-flops. My feet feel secure, safe, and supported. I can walk without pain - and without thinking about my shoes, or my feet. For now, I keep them by my bed, put them on first thing in the morning, and can WALK (not limp, hobble, or tiptoe) from the very first step I take! I've been wearing them since - even when it's really too cold to. (My UGGS, which I usually wear in the house, are feeling abandoned and neglected.) I haven't worn these out in the world yet, but have walked in both the rain on the wooden deck, and in the wet grass on the lawn. When wet, these DON'T slip, they DON'T slide, and they DO still feel secure. They're very lightweight, and they have a good tread on the bottom. It's easy to rinse them clean. I haven't made peace with walking around in public in these yet, but I've come to the realization that there is NO WAY that I'm going to Europe or anywhere else this summer without these! At least for the beach, and in the hotel room at the start and end of every day. Yes, I'm still afraid that my feet will get wider, and I'll end up looking like a Hobbit. But maybe I don't care anymore! (much) I admit it: I'm a (very reluctant, but now fervent) convert. Highly recommend. You may not even know how much you need these shoes! I typically wear a 7.5-8 (more and more often an 8, esp. in boots and running shoes). I ordered a 38 and they fit perfectly. I still think they're funny-looking, but I'm getting used to them. I can't believe that I'm turning into someone who is seriously considering wearing Birkenstocks with summer dresses. (The 82-year-old grandmother, on the other hand, thinks they look 'nice.' !!)

I love these shoes, I was expecting them to be a little disappointing but they surprised me! I have wide feet, but ordering my regular size was the way to go. They took like a week or two to get used to the part that goes over my toes as they kind of rubbed but eventually they did mold to my feet. I have left them in my 100°+ car at least once and they did NOT shrink like I read they could in a review before I bought. The thing that made me give these a 4 star review is that I kind of lost my footing and caught the front of the shoe and foot continued moving forward and the piece that goes between my toes stretched and to my knowledge there’s no way to fix it. They do stay on still, but one shoe is way more loose than the other so it feels like I’m working harder to keep it on.

Not a problem anywhere with these sandals. Mine are about a year old, and just went to ACL in them. If you’ve never been to ACL, you are guaranteed at least 3 miles walk-in in 5 hours on grass, dirt, asphalt and rock. My feet were filthy but both the sandals and my comfort held up and I stayed comfy. I plan to buy another pair as a backup; my cat enjoys chewing them, little snot!
