I never wanted to pay this much for sandals but after wearing them almost daily for 8 months, I can say worth every penny! They are comfortable, match everything, and look good as new. I get the hype now. Totally worth it!

PROS: Cute. It was on sale. CONS: Seriously stiff. Not flexible at all. The straps were so hard, so stiff, that it hurt my feet! Try as I did, it was a no go for me. I returned the pair. It made my feet hurt! 😖

They're the classic Birkenstock Arizona-style sandal - IYKYK. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and these are one of the styles that I can wear with little to no discomfort. I've never been a huge fan of the Birkenstock look, but as I get older I'm placing more importance on comfort than fashion and I do like that these are still made in Germany. I wear a size 8-1/2W or size 9 regular in most footwear and the size 40 fit well. However, unrelated to the sandal itself, I have to comment on the packaging because it was atrocious. This is not a product that should be tossed in a thin, plastic bag, but that's exactly how it was shipped and so the box arrived in rough shape. I initially assumed that it must have been packaged by a third party, but in looking at the shipping label, I was surprised to see that it was actually packaged at an Amazon fulfillment center (I'm looking at you Indianapolis). Someone there needs a refresher course on how to properly pack and ship merchandise. I don't think the poor packaging affected the sandals, but the box they came in is toast.

I was really suspicious while buying these and even after I received them in the mail (which was today haha) because these shoes are sold out everywhere at least in my size 38M (7/7.5 women). I decided to buy them anyway because I had my birthday money saved up and I really wanted some Birks because they're so comfortable. I bought the black oiled leather ones....I figured the upkeep will be easier than with suede. Anyway, they fit perfectly and are comfortable like the ones I tried on at Nordstrom. I got rid of my anxiety of my birks being fake by looking up the retailer on the birkenstock usa website to see if it was licensed. The retailer was Bayou Birkenstock (located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and it was on the licensed list, so I put my faith in that plus they really don't look fake, so I'm happy. Just as a warning, if you don't know your size go to nordstrom or some birkenstock retailer and try them out even if you don't like the ones you're trying on because I range from a size 7.5-8 and these fit me perfectly, but did not fit my mother who is also a size 7.5/8. I'll update this in a few weeks and then after a month to see how they keep up.
