I almost didn't get this because of some reviews about the smell - but I was wanting something exactly like this - a space-saver, with 2 areas, that would look nice out in the room, because I have no closet space. I also wanted something that would hold its shape, not crunch at the bottom like some. I have a beach-theme room so I decided to take a risk on the color and smell issue. I'm so glad I did! The color was exactly what I was hoping for, the size was perfect, and there was next to no smell...OK, maybe a very slight "new" smell that's already dissipated - but nothing bothersome at all. I love the removeable bags (we've got a plastic basketwith handles that we keep in the bottom of our closet and we'll just empty out the side that's full when we're ready to do a load, without removing the bags, because we like folding clothes in the basket. If you wanted to take the inside mesh bag to the laundry, yes, you'd have to take approx. 20 seconds to remove the 4 velcro tabs, and another 20 seconds to reattach them when you're done. (People, we are getting way too lazy if we have to complain about that!) This was a big win for us! ... show more

This hamper looks very nice and went together very easily. The mesh inserts are just the right size for a load of laundry for my machine, as long as I don't pack the clothes down. My only issues is the means to fasten the mesh bags to the top of the hamper. There are fabric tabs at each of the four corners of the mesh bags that must be fed through loops at the top of the hamper and fastened with Velcro (see image). It ends up a little bit of a pain to unfasten each of the 4 tabs, take each out of it's loop, and then reverse the process for each of the tabs after the load is done. A better design would have been to attach the bag directly to the hamper (skip the tabs and loops) with either magnets or Velcro. I may fix this issue myself. Great quality hamper. Beautiful, sturdy, and holds a lot of laundry. Easy to assemble, just folds open and then you insert the flat bottom panel. Arrived quickly. Does have a plastic-y smell at first, but who cares, it's for dirty laundry anyway! Love it. I bought 2 and then came back and ordered another! Definitely recommend. It's worth the extra money because it's not flimsy and will definitely last a long time. Plus the removable liner is a great idea. Some people claim it is more of a hassle, but you get the hang of it quickly (probably truly takes about 45 seconds). It attaches with 4 small Velcro loops. And with the amount of laundry this holds, you won't be removing a full bag every day, so the time it takes to detach and reattach the liner is totally worth the convenience it offers. ... show more

I loved this basket when I got it. In fact, I bought 2, one black and one cream and traded one bag from inside of each and now my husband and I each have our own bag of "darks" and "lights" in our own separate baskets. After 18 years of marriage, that was the best decision I ever made. (He does his own laundry, now. We have 4 kids and I refuse to do THAT much laundry). A year later, the bags and the baskets are all still in great shape. The bags are easy to remove and easy to put back in once the laundry is done.     • Burning smell- for a baby hamper??!

I bought this hamper for my nursery. Since it arrived there is an awful burning smell within the hamper. I really tried to use it- letting it air out, many times, washing inside bag and putting baking soda bag inside- nothing works. What is this smell exactly and How do you suggest to get rid of this smell?? This is really unacceptable for a hamper especially one for babies. I am not using it for my daughter anyways right now , but I don't want to discard it either as it is barely used!!! Hope you understand that This is really frustrating experience with your product and I will leave a review. ... show more

Very nice looking laundry hamper, the 2 separate bags are nice. The laundry bags are held up with velcro straps in each corner, time will tell how that will hold up in long run, maybe replace with a folding/popup laundry bag. update 1/19 replaced laundry bags it got old having to velcro them into place each time. So i replaced them with following from Amazon 2 Pack - SimpleHouseware Mesh Pop-Up Laundry Hamper Basket With Side Pocket. Fit great drop in/out ... show more

This thing stinks!! (I mean this thing really stinks 😷 🤭🥴!) This hamper was meant to go in my bedroom, but it literally stunk up my whole house! (It was a cross between burning plastics & rotting meat!) Full disclosure, I have a notoriously sensitive nose! My daughter set it up & it sat in my living room for a few days where I couldn’t figure out what that smell was. Then I brought it into the space I wanted it in, size & setup was great! But my then even husband couldn’t deal & we had to “evict it”. Once the entire family heard the story & saw the hamper leave then return to the living room, they all realized & confessed that they were also bothered by some “odd” smell too! This is great, does what it's supposed to do, and looks good. Yes, there is a strong smell when you first get it, but it goes away quickly. Hopefully it didn't do any permanent damage. My only complaint, as others have noted, is the way you attach the bag using four little velcro hoops. Simple hooks would have been better - these take a little effort (not much - I mean, we are really getting soft as a society to complain about things like this) but more importantly I feel like they don't do a great job holding heavy piles of laundry. I'm basing this on feel, and not evidence - I haven't seen the bag come detached yet from normal use, it just seems like it is bound to happen though. Also, with mine for some reason the sides buckle out a bit so it's not a perfect flush fit with the lid. Overall, I really like it, it looks nice, and fit my space perfectly. Just a couple of nits to pick but highly recommended overall. ... show more
